24.01.2022 Very excited to announce that Sara has now joined our team at AquaPhys as a specialised PAEDIATRIC PHYSIOTHERAPIST. Sara comes with a wealth of knowledge and experience, having spent the last 12 years at The Benevolent Society and previous to this at the Department of Ageing, Disability and Home Care. Sara is also currently employed at The Childrens Hospital Westmead. The Paediatric Physiotherapy Services on offer at AquaPhys include :... * Developmental assessments * Early intervention for gross motor skills * Play based therapy to build motor skills * Develop home and/or school exercise and/or positioning programs * Hydrotherapy/Water based therapy * Home Visits * Prescription of equipment * Assistive technology applications. Sara is also extending her services to Adult Neurological Therapy. Remember that AquaPhys is a NDIS REGISTERED PRACTICE and so can see patients with available NDIS funding!

23.01.2022 The City of Canterbury Bankstown has organised some great activities for Mental Health Month (October).

22.01.2022 IMPORTANT COVID-19 UPDATE AquaPhys remains operational and all our work will continue albeit with a few changes. The Max Parker Leisure & Aquatic Centre in which we operate is now closed to the general public, however AquaPhys continues to operate under a condensed timetable. We will continue to offer our Hydrotherapy and Land Physiotherapy service although may need to reschedule appointments to alternative times in order to comply with Canterbury Bankstown Councils request ...to work within certain hours. In view of this, we have extended our home visit service should this be a more appropriate option for you. Telehealth may also be an alternative and we are exploring this as a possibility. Note that the Australian Physiotherapy Association is also advocating strongly on our behalf to initiate immediate reforms to Medicare and Private Health Insurance rebates in regards to Telehealth. 13.01.2022 AquaPhys continues to be operational!! However, I must inform all our valuable patients that unfortunately the AquaPhys Clinic itself has been shutdown. While Physiotherapy services can continue, the Executive Committee at Canterbury Bankstown Council have made the decision to close all of their facilities and withdraw staff. As our clinic exists in a Council facility, we too have been forced to shut. In light of the shutdown, we have decided to come to you! ... We are currently in the process of ringing all our booked patients to ensure you are aware of the change and offer you the availability of a Home Visit or Telehealth consultation. If we havent yet contacted you - we will. The practice deals with a variety of clientele, which are predominately musculoskeletal cases, however there is a strong rehabilitation emphasis. Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications The scope of the role involves providing general land based Physiotherapy, as well as one on one Hydrotherapy. Private Practice experience is essential. A separate role also exists for a Neurological/Paediatric Physiotherapist and so suitable candidates should also apply. Hydrotherapy experience is not essential and appropriate education, training and opportunities for professional development will also be provided.
