20.01.2022 WHAT A MAGNIFICENT SIGHT!! This vision from SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium shows a male White’s seahorse giving birth. The arrival of over 100 seahorse babies at ...the aquarium marks a successful start to the second year of a conservation breeding program designed to repopulate the endangered species. 19.01.2022 Hands up who is not a fan of water balloons? A CSIRO study has identified balloons among the top three most harmful pollutants threatening marine wildlife.... Balloons end up in our oceans, along coastlines and parks. They easily break up into smaller pieces and are attractive to wildlife as they look like food - often with tragic consequences. Like all single-use items there are alternatives available. One of our little eco warriors received handmade reusable crochet water bombs as a Christmas gift. #SeaShepherd #EveryPieceCounts #StemTheTide #balloons

04.01.2022 The ground-breaking work of Professor Peter Harrison, the Southern Cross University marine scientist who first discovered the dazzling coral sex phenomenon, wil...l be shared with Australian audiences on ABC TV + iview's Reef Live this weekend. Tune in this Friday at 8.30pm to watch one of the world’s greatest natural spectacles unfold the once-yearly phenomenon of the majestic mass coral spawn. I hope that everyone who watches ABC TV’s ambitious Reef Life broadcast understands more clearly the fragility of coral and their critical roles in building reefs that support entire ecosystems, said Professor Harrison who is currently at Heron Island and One Tree Island in the southern Great Barrier Reef. The spectacular phenomenon is usually only observed by scientists, divers and marine enthusiasts. This front row livestreamed broadcast is truly remarkable in scale and will highlight the wonders of these simple yet critically important marine creatures. Reef Live, a breathtaking two-part live event, airs Friday 4 December at 8.30pm (episode 1) and Sunday 6 December at 8.40pm (episode 2) on ABC & iview.
