25.01.2022 As we’ve been asked to separate for a 2nd term, we’re reminded of all the goods things we did to get ready for season 2020 and the good people we’ve met and worked with along the way. It’s just a bump in the road, and we’ll be back...Thank-you all.
24.01.2022 It’s always great to see our players soaring and sometimes that doesn’t include a footy oval. Well done to our U13’s Charlotte for her role in the Aquinas College, choir. A great way to celebrate our togetherness whilst we’re apart. Well done.
21.01.2022 We agree with you Steph. It’s always good to be prepared...I’m sure someone in our Aquinas family will be able to help with a video of our song. We’ll post the words shortly.

21.01.2022 Thank-you to the Yarra Junior Football League for helping create pathways for our junior players. Not everyone‘s going to be the next big thing, but for those that do want their chance, they have options within our league to experience it. #WeJustWantToPlayFooty

15.01.2022 Proud to be in the Yarra Junior Football League who remind us again about the rich tapestry of our country and our great game. The big picture matters. NAIDOC (National Aboriginal and Islander Day Observance Committee) Week
14.01.2022 Today we welcome the Yarra Junior Football League’s commitment to the July 12th start date. They said... The July 12 start date allows clubs and committees to continue preparations for the season and for coaches to prepare their players in full contact training. We couldn’t agree more...our players still have time to hone their skills, build their confidence and grow those smiles as they get better. Now we need you to consider how you can assist as a Team Manager, Team Trainer, Team Runner, etc. Please let your teams coach know of your interest. #TogetherWeCan
14.01.2022 PSSSTT...I CAN’T WAIT! This weekend, for all our girls we’ve got our first ever ‘Super Tackle Sunday.’ Sunday 28th from 9-11am, dress for tackling and maybe even for getting muddy. We’re going to learn from one of the best in the business how to tackle and how to be tackled. These are great footy skills and also life skills. See you there and maybe bring a change of clothes or a towel for the car Ride home. Malcolm Bangs - Tackles & Takedowns
13.01.2022 Today we learned our community’s effort to push forward with a footy season had been put on hold. A decision that’s been made in the best interests of us all....even so, it hurts and we’re all feeling it. We should all be proud in the way that we carried ourselves, followed the rules and adapted to a new normal. More information will be shared from the YJFL in the coming days and we’ll bring that to you.

08.01.2022 Let’s makes sure we all have the COVID-Safe app, and help keep the season alive for our young superstars. We ALL benefit when they’re out there enjoying this great game. #WeJustWantToPlayFooty
08.01.2022 The AFL has updated its Return To Play protocols. The great news is our season start date of 12th July can continue (always pending Government direction) and we now are very clear what we need to do to support it. It will take extra support, help and understanding from our families and players. I think we’re happy to accept those challenges if we can play footy. Let’s work together and make this ‘New Normal’ an experience and not a burden for just a few. #TogetherWeCan #WeJustWantToPlayFooty
08.01.2022 Sadly, it’s time to let the sun go down on the YJFL’s 2020 footy season. We applaud the league and all clubs in trying to keep this season alive for the slimmest chance to play footy...Hope and a great deal of effort got us to this point. It just wasn’t to be. More info to come for the members next week. Stay tuned and mask-up. See the official league response below:-... YJFL UPDATE | The Board of the YJFL would like to make the following statement. In response to the Victorian Government’s most recent Stage 4 announcements, and the anticipated timing of the restrictions being lifted, it is with great sadness that we announce that the Board has resolved that the League will not offer its traditional, fixtured football season in 2020. 03.01.2022 Tonight in Victoria, masks become essential. Let’s do our bit...Mask-up and help slow the spread of this virus. Sure, we want to get back on the field as soon as possible...but it’s bigger than that...let’s lead the way. March together Bloods. #TrulyAquinas
03.01.2022 ***COMPETITION TIME*** C'mon girls, coaches, officials and parents. Let the YJFL know why it's so good to be back playing, watching, teaching and helping at our great little club and you could win a prize! (Drawn daily) Good Luck #TrulyAquinas
01.01.2022 As many of us are still coming to terms with working from home, here’s a great solution from one of our foundation sponsors that just might suit. Good on you Dave & Jen for helping us think outside the box. #TrulyAquinas
01.01.2022 AN EVENING WITH TOM BOYD It’s a FREE 1hr online event that we’re privileged to be able to hear. A mental health journey by a courageous and generous man. This event is part of Men’s Health Week and may be interesting to our parent cohort. This is why we’re sharing it.... Of course, please use your discretion whether this is suitable for your child as some of the themes may not be. Take care everyone and if you ever need to have a chat, we’re here for you. We really mean it. ********************************************* As part of the Be Kind Maroondah campaign, Maroondah City Council has joined with other local councils to offer An Evening with Tom Boyd, a former AFL player who shares his story of going from #1 draft pick to retirement within five years. Tom speaks about his inspirational journey, highlighting his mental health battles and how he identifies and manages it on a daily basis. At the age of 24, Tom speaks with wisdom beyond his years and translates to listeners across all demographics. Tom shares the techniques and strategies he personally used to overcome some of the most challenging moments in his life. He touches on living with mental health issues, dealing with criticism, as well as the happiness that can come from focusing on balance and self-care. This event is scheduled to run during Men’s Health week, 15 to 21 June. Men's Health Week provides a platform for challenging and debating key issues in men's health and to raise the profile of men, their health outcomes and health needs. It’s an opportunity to celebrate the strengths of men, the contributions they make and the important role they play in society. Did you know that one in seven Australian men experiences depression or anxiety or both in any year, men take their own lives at four times the rate of women (that's five men a day, on average) and that men are far less likely to seek help for mental health conditions than women? For more information or support: https://www.menshealthweek.org.au/ https://www.beyondblue.org.au/ https://www.lifeline.org.au/ Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions this presentation is now an online event. The presentation runs for 1 hour and a link will be provided to you on the day so you can join in. Bookings can be made through Try Booking https://www.trybooking.com/book/event?eid=628406& This is a joint Local Government Health and Wellbeing initiative by a number of neighbouring Councils in the Eastern Melbourne region.
