12.01.2022 How goods a visit from a customer cruzin in a car we helped build. Still kooking good too. Oh and he bought us alittle cake bun for smoko. Cheers legend.

08.01.2022 Just some insight into how we prepare a vehicle for paint. Each car if different and can be prepared and painted in different ways. Because of the body lines on this xp wagon we chose to assemble the car and block all the body lines together, this helps us get it all blocked up nice and straight. The grey is a 2pack hibuild primer, this is fully cured for at least two weeks before we prepare it for paintwork allowing it to sink back shrink dry and finish doing anything it want...s before paint. Stage 1 # apply a black guide coat to all areas you are going to prepare. As you start flat blocking this will show up and highs and lows that need attention. Stage 2# using a variety of flat and round sanding blocks with 240grit sandpaper we start blocking all the flat surfaces and sharpen the body line. Also using the tape as an edge to follow so we dont oversand into the next area or accidentally sand off an edge or line. Stage 3# re guide coat it all again and repeat the process now with 320grit paper. Re taping and refining all the line. And now also paying attention to making it super straight and also removing all the 240g scratches with the finer paper. Stage 4# re guide coat again yes all of it. Then we moved to a wet and dry sand paper at 600grit. Still only using flat blocks we go around the entire car again with the same process. This is now to smooth any scratches and get it ready for paint. At this stage it hard to correct and defects if we find anything we have to go back to a courser paper to correct that area. After all the flat areas are done we can now grab some 600g or 800g and a grey scotch pad and go around all the edges nook and crannys to make sure everything is sanded and ready to paint. Stage 5# wash the car down with clean cloth and water only to remove any primer sludge and dust. Stage 6# dry the car out with air blowers and sun helps then wipe down the whole car with a wax and grease remover to clean everything up. Now thats done we can start to mask to car up, back masking any areas we dont want painted sealing up gaps so not overspray get to underbody black or into the engine bay or door openings that have already been painted.
