10.01.2022 Aramaya on Channel 9 News!

09.01.2022 Aramaya sources all ivory sustainably from Pianos Recycled. We have just finished submitting comments to the Australian goverment on proposals for the next CITES convention in Sri Lanka in May www.environment.gov.au/biodivers/wildlife-trade/cites/cop18 arguing that musical instruments and associated pre-1975 ivory should always be exempted from any trade bans. Did you know that the USA has a domestic trade ban on ivory, including musical instruments, yet allows hunters to kill 2 elephants each per year and bring them back as trophies? That is the equivalent, in piano ivory terms of 180 piano keyboards (45 keyboards per tusk), each of 52 ivory keys, so 9360 ivory keys per hunter per year!

09.01.2022 Not all piano key ebonies are the same. They can vary quite a bit in size and weight as you can see from the brownish smaller ebony from an American Lincolnola piano "Betsy", to the very black heavy larger ebony from a German Mignon piano "Manon".

08.01.2022 Through purchase of our jewellery, Aramaya is so proud to say that we have been able to foster 3 baby orphan elephants in Kenya recently - Malkia, Kiasa and Jotto, on behalf of Alle, Grace and Jeanne. Thankyou so much :)

08.01.2022 We will be joining the global climate protest on Friday. The time for talking, analysing and consulting is over- governments need to act now. #climatestrike #pianosrecycled #aramayajewels

08.01.2022 We generate 67 mega tonnes of solid waste in Australia every year. How can reuse and retail have a substantial impact on what we throw out and what we make new...? Missed the premiere?
