24.01.2022 Martine Murray beautifully captures Australian childhood in this gorgeous book. Joey escapes the hum-drum of school and home by visiting the hill. It's not much, but it's his space to dream. But then he discovers a strange girl has built a treehouse and taken up residence. Equal parts annoyed and intrigued by her antics, Joey finds himself returning again and again. Who is Marsh, with her strange stories of queens and bitter bread? Reviewed by Dayna. 22.01.2022 #BookReview "This is the first book of the Witcher series, that spawned a very popular computer game and TV show. The Last Wish contains 7 stories and there's much to enjoy here, monsters, spins on classic fairy tale themes, magic and violent fights. The dark fantasy, melancholy and cynicism of the character Geralt and his environment brings to mind similar themes from the works of the great fantasy masters, but it didn't offer anything particularly memorable for me. I do recommend giving it a go, for it was enjoyable enough to nudge my curiosity to try the next book in the series." - Dean Reserve now: https://rb.gy/ibt0pj #TheWitcher

12.01.2022 "'The hidden life of trees' is a wonderful book by a German forestry manager that provides some incredible insights into the complex life of trees, which he argues are part of a vast social and resource sharing network. The book delivers some groundbreaking scientific findings that are sure to inspire you and change the way you fundamentally look at nature. It would have been good if the author had provided a somewhat more granular break down of the ecological processes occurring in the trees though, as this is fascinating in of itself. Nevertheless, this is a great read and it is sure to make your next walk in the bush far more interesting!" - Reviewed by Ray Borrow here: https://rb.gy/tdgpt6 #TheHiddenLifeofTrees
