25.01.2022 Delilah has failed at being a foster Which is good news for her!! She will be staying with her foster cares as part of their family now and has made herself very much at home in the short time she has been there. We are happy we will all be able to watch her grown and wish her and her family all the best
24.01.2022 The gorgeous Miss Tinkerbelle has finished her trial period today, and her new family couldn't be happier. She has 2 wonderful new human siblings, and a doggie sibling who has accepted, and is now loving her....We just can't ask for a better outcome than this........We wish Miss Tinkerbelle, her mum, her sisters and her canine sister, a long, happy, adventurous, and most importantly, a loving life together <3
23.01.2022 We have been so fortunate to receive a wonderful bag of coats, for our medium to larger dogs, and flea treatments for all sizes.....This has been due to the stunning generosity of Animal Rescues Appeal.........On behalf of our Ararat Dog Rescue committee, foster carers and supporters, we thank them for this incredibly generous donation, and they will all be well utilised in the coming months and years.
22.01.2022 Gus has gone off to his new home today and was excitedly welcomed by his lovely new family. We wish him all the best in his forever home
22.01.2022 Found female kelpie looking dog on the Western Highway near Great Western. Friendly and loves a belly scratch. She needs to find her mum n dad
22.01.2022 The Ararat Market is almost here, and boy, have we got a couple of really wonderful Raffle prizes coming together.....all sorts of human, and animal goodies are being included, so come and say hi, grab a ticket or three (because 3 is the cheaper option) and spend some time just talking to us, because we have really missed seeing everyone...Looking forward to our new "normal" and catching up with our regulars, and meeting all our new friends......stay safe, stay healthy and stay happy <3
21.01.2022 The Ararat Market is not far off now (Nov 8th)........whoo hoo.......and we are in the process of getting together 2 wonderful Raffle baskets. The tickets will cost the usual $2 each, or 3 for $5....and the Raffle will be drawn on December 19th, outside the Bendigo Bank....They will have a little bit of everything in them, both canine and human, and some other bits and pieces that will come as a surprise, which should make the lucky winners Christmas a good one..We are looking forward to seeing all our regular customers, new customers and anyone who would like any information about what we do, or anyone who would just like to say hi, and talk for a while.........but please, stay safe, stay healthy.......and most importantly, stay happy
20.01.2022 It's been a day. Tanks overflowing everywhere and lakes the puppies are having a wonderful time playing in.....but once again, for reasons that I can't, and won't mention, or understand, human beings have shown their true colours and believe me, they are not nice, pleasant or even human...How can anyone make someone they are supposed to have loved, and who loved them with their every breath, then use them as a pawn in their games .....The pain this person has caused to a person who does not deserve it, but was there for that family member for many years, is reprehensible. We will, as a group she loved, and when restrictions permit, give our loved one the goodbye she deserves. It will be done with dignity, love, laughter, dogs present and probably more than a tear or two, but she will have the respect she deserves...RIP Gail. .
19.01.2022 3 out of our 4 Raffle winners are now enjoying their prizes....OK one has to wait for Auspost to deliver, but the other 2 have been hand delivered, and I am betting they are now being enjoyed....the last prize will be delivered tomorrow, and I am guessing that the lucky winner will be more than happy with her yummy basket.........thank you all so much for your support..........Admin

16.01.2022 available for adoption Buster Male. 3 yo. Staghound X Greyhound Buster is a loving boy that is looking for a family to call his own. Weighing in at 31 kg Buster is a big boy and a gentle giant who loves people. He can get a bit excited and bounce around you when seeing new people but with some guidance he calms easily. We have put some time in and Buster is now walking well on a short lead with the aid of a halti and will improve the more he is out and about in it an...d also walks well on a long lead and is happy to wander along with his nose to the ground, taking everything in. He has been use to sleeping on his previous owners bed and loves a snooze on the couch as well and would be happy with a couple of walks or runs a day then resting till the next adventure. He travels well on the back of the ute and likes being out seeing and smelling new things. Buster can sit for his meals but can be protective over his food so must be fed alone and in peace. He gets on well with other dogs and kids once the bouncing is under control. He needs a family that will continue with his training and make him part of their everyday lives and adventures. Buster would be fine homed by himself or with a sister of medium to large size to play with. Buster is not suitable to a home that has cats, chooks, rabbits or any other small animals as both sides of his breeding are driven by scent and movement to chase. Buster comes # Fully C5 vaccinated # Desexed # Wormed and flea treated # Fee $450 # Source number EE102322 So if you think Buster could be perfect for your family please contact us by email at [email protected] so we can send you out an application for Buster

11.01.2022 Is anyone missing this old girl? Wandered up our driveway and straight in our back gate. She’s safe, happy and waiting. Will hold on to her overnight and then make some calls. No tags or collar. Pls share around, would love to get her home. Thanks!
10.01.2022 One of the very best things about doing what we do, is the day when we can ring/contact, one of our "on trial" new owners, and tell them their 2 week trial is over....and the dog they have taken into their homes, their lives and their hearts, is now finally THEIR dog.....usually it is met with screams of joy, tears, or "you don't want/ can't have him/her back".......It doesn't matter how often it happens, or under what circumstances.......our joy is still the same.......We have found a hooman/animal combo who will be together forever.......Life is good

06.01.2022 TINKERBELL has started her trial period with her new family. We wish them all a long and happy life together........... TINKERBELLE (Tinks) 4 month old Bull Arab/Kelpie Female... Tinkerbelle is a loving, active young girl who enjoys nothing more than spending time with her humans and her dog family. She has grown up with other dogs, including her brother, and gets on well with all of them. Tinkerbelle (Tinks) loves to play and although sometimes she can be a little rough, especially with her brother, she is more than happy to curl up with any of the other dogs and have a snooze when play time is finished. Tinkerbelle is more suited to being an only dog, or with an older, dominant dog who can teach her where her place in the household is. She is not house trained, having slept outside in her yard from the day she arrived, but would learn to love being indoors, in time, with her people. She has been around horses, and shown no real interest, but she has NOT been tested with cats. As she is only a baby, she has a lot of learning to do, and with patience, she will pick up anything very quickly. She is wonderful with children but can be a little too loving with the smaller ones, so ideally no children younger than 5 years old would be perfect, but again, with time, training and love, she will learn not to be so eager. She is great with fences and loves to be in the car, although she is at that age that she is not quite big enough to jump into a high vehicle, but she is getting bigger every day and heavier to lift. Time will fix that situation. She is learning to walk well on leash and has already learned to sit, and wait for her meals. If you think Tinkerbelle could fit into your family, then please email us at [email protected], and an Application to Adopt will be sent to you. Due to Covid 19 restrictions we will NOT be accepting applications from Melbourne or the Mitchel shire. We will also NOT be accepting any interstate applications. We must put our volunteers health and safety first, so we hope you will understand. Tinkerbelle comes:- Desexed C5 Vaccinated Microchip number :- 956 00000 739 4783 Wormed and Flea Treated Source Number :- EE102322 ADOPTION FEE IS $550.00
