25.01.2022 Battle for the banksia! Jade started off strong, but it wasnt long before Chilli spotted the prize flower and had to have it! Aura showed some fleeting interest with a sneaky steel attempt, but Chills quick foot work and extroadinary back peddling exit from the crowd landed him the prize!

25.01.2022 Just some more macaw spam for your Monday night

23.01.2022 Spent the weekend doing some more landscaping around the flight aviary. Dingo load after Dingo load of blue metal was spread around the aviary perimeter, the first set of stairs were finished, the retaining wall was backfilled and a few small plants have gone in

17.01.2022 This is Jade enjoying some head scratches this morning until Rocky showed up for some attention too...why do big brothers have to butt in and ruin everything!!

17.01.2022 After a few months of settling in, we moved our newest and youngest blue and golds (Jade, Rocky and Remi) from the weaning aviary to the flight aviary today. There was a bit of jealousy between Jade and the greenwings (mainly Chilli, Nino and Pepper) but the newbies have settled in well and have eaten and found the water bowl. Will move some potential breeding pairs out of the flight aviary over the next couple of weekends. We have begun increasing the food supply in the lead up to the breeding season too, so fingers crossed well see some action in the coming months

16.01.2022 Not sure why we bothered with perches in the flight aviary...seems the rafters are the best spot for bed (even for one red bat)

16.01.2022 I love getting updates and photos from those who own the macaw bubs weve bred Heres a few pics of the affectionate Miss Rose (one of last seasons greenwing bubs) with her new Dad. She is certainly living her best life

12.01.2022 A couple of workmates and friends visited this weekend and met the crew. The usual suspects...Chilli, Nino, Aura and Jade were happy to mingle and Pepper joined in for a bit of head massaging too! A good time was had by all

05.01.2022 "Ahhh...yeah...thats the spot Nino " (Nino the greenwing and Aura the Scarlet seem pretty darn chummy but Auras supposed to be saving herself for a handsome Scarlet prince and shouldnt be flirting with a pretty-boy greenwing!

03.01.2022 I picked up my gorgeous painting "She Adores Macaws" by Sue Hamlet Creative today! It features three of the large macaw species that we currently breed and love (based on Joy, Chilli and Aura). The colours are just stunning! Make sure you check out Sues page and get in touch if youd like her to create your own special piece

03.01.2022 At 12.25am we welcomed this little B&G beauty to the world (from Primero & Coco) This is 4yr old Primero's first baby and Coco is the Mum of our past bred B&G's. We found this bubba already out of his shell just after midnight, so tucked him up in bed and gave him a few drinks of hartman's during the wee hours of the morning. He is pumping like a little champion now too

03.01.2022 This weekend's fun with the big jungle chickens

03.01.2022 We had a go a making our first birdy cake from scratch today and it turned out pretty darn good! Must say though, most macaws were a bit dubious of their new treat, but they had a nibble and a few were happy to go back for seconds and thirds

02.01.2022 Baby Jade is still adjusting to life in the flight aviary with all big red jealous monsters, so she really loves one on one cuddles and play time with me in the safety flight. She was particularly gentle, smoochy and playful today

02.01.2022 Some friends came over yesterday (our first visitors in month due to Covid-19) and met many of our feathered rascals. Heres a few pics of Tiana and Sarah with our red chickens and some other general photos too

Prim & Coco (b&gs) also laid their 2nd egg today and their 1st egg is fertile...you little beauty!! (At this early stage you can just detect faint, red spots/veins forming, as per photo below)

01.01.2022 Cuddles with my Jade baby today...shes a sweety, with a dash of crazy
