This little gem contains the following branch chain amino acids (BCAA): L-leucine. This is the most plentiful amino acid within the body but it diminishes when we workout as it is burned by the muscles as fuel. It’s in our after workout to replenish stores & it stimulates protein synthesis and muscle growth - which we want after a workout to build the muscle. It also regulates blood sugar & is needed for the production of the growth hormone (a hormone for growth, cell production and cell regeneration). Another is l-isoleucine. This BCAA specifically prevents muscle wastage and promotes tissue repair. It is used for energy & replenishes glycogen stores. When glycogen is depleted during exercise, muscle breakdown occurs. Lastly, L-Valine. Like the other two, helps to promote growth hormone, muscle tissue repair, regulates blood sugar & replenishes glycogen. It also helps stimulate the central nervous system which is important to send messages of repair & recovery throughout the body. All three of these #BCAAs work in synergy & simultaneously & are essential amino acids (meaning they cannot be created by the body & need to come from food).
