24.01.2022 Australias largest tree planting and nature care event, National Tree Day has been going for over 20 years now. In that time, something to the tune of 24 million trees have been planted. What a fantastic achievement! This year, there is a Schools Tree Day on Friday, 27th July with the National Tree Day falling on Sunday, 29th July. At last count, there will be over 150,000 people participating and almost half a million seedlings to be planted between the two days. You can register your interest online at treeday.planetark.org and find an event to take part in thats local to you. Its a great occasion and a truly worthwhile undertaking. But, as they say on the website, if you cant make it on the day, then every day can be a Tree Day!

23.01.2022 After a lot of heavy rain over a weekend this large Cedars root plate failed and the tree fell landing in a nearby gum, making for a tricky dismantle for our tree team

23.01.2022 A prune, especially on hedges and larger specimens, to remove any dead or diseased wood is your starting point. A light prune to maintain shape will be needed regularly on hedges over the next few months as it remains in active growth. By pruning now you maintain good structure and plants do not become weak and leggy. Pruning, in general, allows for healthier plants that are less susceptible to diseases. Any pruning cuts will also heal quickly at this time of year. Call us to prune your trees.

20.01.2022 Garden maintenance can seem never-ending at this time of year with just about everything needing some sort of attention. Whether it be clipping, trimming, pruning, feeding, spraying (weeds and pests) or all of the above, from now until Christmas is just about the busiest time on the gardening calendar.

18.01.2022 Covid-19 Update. Arbor pride will be continuing to operate during these difficult times, and will be following the governments guidelines and recommendations in the coming days and weeks. With extra precautions being taken to keep our customers and crews safe, we are implementing fixed teams so as to reduce the risk of contamination between staff.... Higher levels of hygiene, with our crews taking care to wash their hands and disinfect vehicles and tools, wearing gloves to ring or knock on your doors. And social distancing between themselves and customers of 2m. Consideration to cease trading all together is there, but we do not feel that is absolutely necessary at this present time. We will endeavour to keep our teams out for as long as possible whilst the government allows and operating to provide our loyal customers with the high standards they are used to. Enquiries will still be taken and greatly received. During a site visit a safe distance of 2m will be maintained at all times, while we discuss your requirements. Any domestic Clients currently awaiting a start date will be contacted in our usual process but our lead time may be extended slightly. We would ask that access be available before we arrive and the usual morning `meet and greet` will need to maintain a 2m distance. We would ask that our Clients remain indoors whilst the work is being undertaken. We will continue to update as things change and progress. Take care, Julian

18.01.2022 Were entering into one of the busiest times of year on the garden calendar. Literally everything will need something from you. Irrigation systems should be checked. Tools and equipment sharpened and cleaned. You can even start fertilising now as the roots of most dormant trees and shrubs will have already begun to awaken.

18.01.2022 The onset of the warmer weather often brings with it a raft of unwelcome tree and plant diseases that thrive in the humid conditions. Things like Anthracnose, Armillaria and different types of Phytophthora can all make rapid inroads as the weather begins to warm up.

17.01.2022 Hi Everyone! Internet and phone lines are down at the office but we have someone looking into it right now. Sorry for the inconvenience.

17.01.2022 Bushfire Precautions It’s that time of year again when we all need to be bushfire aware and plan accordingly for the coming season. Bushfires can occur at any time but, as we head into perhaps the most dangerous period of the year, we need to think about minimising the risk of fire around the home and garden. Understandably, especially for those of you in bushfire prone areas, trees and shrubs around the home can become quite a concern heading into this summer period. But, w...Continue reading

14.01.2022 November is a particularly maintenance-heavy month simply for the sheer volume of growth on hand. 03.01.2022 Hedges can have a post-winter haircut around now but wait for a bit of growth before you give them their first trim of the season. Once you clip them, growth will really take off and youll find the need to cut them more frequently just to maintain a general, tidy shape.
