14.01.2022 Rest easy Albert, you will be missed. If you haven’t read Albert’s story, he and his best mate Bill have 150years of service between them! Albert was still assisting his brigade and community in the 2019/2020 bush fires. https://www.abc.net.au//bilpin-veterans-recognise/12387966

11.01.2022 Have you come across trees and powerlines down in the area? Don’t go near them, report them! Treat all powerlines as live! Stay a minimum of 8 metres away from them. Your cars tyres cannot serve as insulation from them, and driving over fallen powerlines can get tangled with your car. If powerlines fall on your car, stop, stay calm, and stay in your car! Be careful of powerlines on fence lines, as electricity can travel along them.... Fallen powerlines can also start fires. Call 000 and report all fires, don’t try and put them out yourselves. For storm damage call 132500 For life threatening situations call 000 Report fallen power lines to your energy distributor: Ausgrid on 131 388 Endeavour Energy on 131 003 Essential Energy on 132 080.

06.01.2022 Congratulations to former NSW Rural Fire Service Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons, tonight named the NSW Australian Of The Year. On accepting the award, Shane has... paid special tribute to the volunteers who worked to protect homes and lives last fire season, and particularly those who lost their lives. See more

04.01.2022 Beaut day out in Arcadia! A year ago Gospers Mountain fire was heading down towards Wisemans Ferry and we had crews rotating on day and night shifts. Our community had their plans in place and offered local brigades so much support! Thankfully today is different, but the risk of bush fire is still there. How fire proof is your plan? 04.01.2022 #NSWRFS Arcadia and Berowra Rural Fire Brigade took advantage of the great weather today for some joint training at our station. Berowra recently received a new Category 1 tanker like our new Alpha. It was great to get out in the area and work on pumping scenarios with the new trucks and our Cat 9.

02.01.2022 The annual Blessing of the Fleet service held by the Galston Uniting Church is one of the communities fondest events. This service is usually held annually prior to the upcoming fire season, however, 2020 was a bit different and the event was conducted last weekend at a much smaller scale. As always it is a great event, allowing everyone to reflect upon why they volunteer, and it was unanimous that community was the key reason why.

01.01.2022 Every day you'll find #NSWRFS and Indigenous communities working side by side, sharing knowledge, experience and culture - it's a partnership we're proud to be celebrating this #NAIDOCWeek
