22.01.2022 Noosa, start thinking about Sydney!

20.01.2022 Today's Travel Daily picked up on our LinkedIn post about Arcadia Travel launching an art gallery and bike hire! Travel Daily and TravelBulletin Noosa Junction #noosa

18.01.2022 We got another mention today - in the Express Travel Group newsletter! Reminder if you're about Noosa Junction this evening, say hello as we launch Kita Lawrence's exhibition.

17.01.2022 This week we RESPECT the acclaimed new series, The Queen's Gambit on Netflix, immersed in 60s style - and of course, the Qantas Centenary, represented with our iconic 60s flight bag. Would you like to see Beth's best moves explained? Wed 25 November starting at 6pm at Arcadia Travel's shop/gallery in Arcadia St Noosa Junction, chess expert Ralph Jackson will demonstrate combinations from a selection of Beth's games. As well as the demonstration set pictured, we'll have tables... with regular tournament sets. RSVP [email protected] - there is no charge. 12 places. In the late 60s Ralph took up chess - and Qantas, flying RTW twice on their V-Jets (thanks to dad working for them). First tournament was '72 soon after the Fischer-Spassky match, Sydney Junior Champion in '76, a past Australia Top 50 player and presently #1 FIDE rated player (ELO 2046, peaked at 2140) on the Sunshine Coast. Ralph's grandfather was a cousin to English master Antony Guest who played many of the world's greats in the 1880s. Ralph is available for private chess lessons during Dec and Jan, after hours at Arcadia Travel's Noosa Junction shop. https://www.netflix.com/au/title/80234304 #chess #queensgambit #noosa #noosachessclub #sunshinecoastchessclub #noosajunction #Qantas100

14.01.2022 Arcadia Travel recommends the 4-star Avonmore on the Park Boutique Hotel in Randwick, Sydney. We've stayed there ourselves many times - with Dutch and German Djoser tour groups that we manage. As well as Royal Randwick Racecourse, the hotel is handy to Coogee Beach, Centennial Park, lots of cafes/restaurants/pubs/bars - and it's just a ride on the new light rail to the city. We look forward to coming back!!

14.01.2022 We're trying to find out how many passengers she/he carries - it's likely to be no more than 12. However the brand new, gas-powered, Jacques Saade can take a record 23,000 x 20' containers. 8 more ships like it are being built for CMA CGM. If you're interested in an international freighter passage, you'll have to wait at least until March 2021.

12.01.2022 Who'd like to cycle Outback Australia in 2021 and 2022? OUTBIKE first ran in 2004 and we're probably best known for the GULF to GULF ride, crossing Australia in 30 days (every 2-3 years). Arcadia Travel and Outbike Australia are co-owned. ... With international travel looking uncertain through 2021, we're stepping on the pedals to offer more great Aussie rides for Aussies and hopefully Kiwis too! We can also run charter trips for any group or club with our hi-spec Bandicoot Tours and Charters 21 seat mini-coaches - for cycling (can carry up to 15 bikes), hiking, touring etc. We have all the gear for comfy camping and catering too. In the images are some of our 2021-22 epics... arcadiatravel.com.au/outbike #outbackaustralia #outbackqueensland #southaustraliatourism #visitqueensland #cycletouring #cycletour #bikepacking #gulftogulf #Gulf2Gulf #outbackoddysey

06.01.2022 Alright, you've been to Tuscany. But have you visited Arcadia - the province on the Peloponnese Peninsula? Claiming chapters of Greek Mythology and a raft of delights, Arcadia fancies itself to become as popular as Tuscany. Have a read and see what you think. Admittedly, going anywhere overseas soon seems mythical. ... https://news.gtp.gr//action-plan-transform-arcadia-tuscan/

05.01.2022 With many years running Outbike adventures (est. 2004), Team Arcadia are pleased to add bike hire to our services from Arcadia Street. Bikes include 6 x MTBs and a retro single speed. We're $25 per 24 hours. Rates drop to $10 a day after the first 48 hours so that a 7 day hire is $100.... Note our MTBs are not for use on beaches or technical MTB trails such as Wooroi.

05.01.2022 This month Arcadia Travel's new gallery promotes images of Noosa by Kita Lawrence - for those of us thinking of staying home!

05.01.2022 2021... where may we be able to go? Many countries within range of Australia are doing well and perhaps some may be able to bubble-up with us next year? Start thinking of Fiji (just 1 confirmed Covid case 17-30 Oct), Laos (also 1), Timor (1), Brunei (1), Seychelles (4), Cambodia (8), PNG (11), Mongolia (20), Taiwan (24), Vietnam (61), HK (84), Thailand (97) and Singapore (108). Even China (366). To compare, in the same period, Aus notched up 180 Covid cases and NZ 81, most ...in returned travellers. Not doing well are Malaysia, Indonesia, Burma and Philippines. South Korea and Japan, wait and see. For now, here's a Vietnam beach resort 'teaser' from Insider Journeys Flash Sales...

04.01.2022 We've decided not to run the BVRT Moon Walk this weekend and we're advising people who put their hands up. There's wet weather rolling in from the west during the week, reaching the coast Sat-Sun. Could be thunder and lightning on the BVRT. Hopefully the farmers receive a good soak.... Look out for another shot at the Moon Walk sometime over summer.

01.01.2022 Pam Murphy popped in while Kita and I (Ralph) were in the shop. Pam is quite a lady. Owner of the only house to burn down in Peregian Beach a year back, she now has a new build and looking forward to getting on with life and painting. She lost everything including all her artworks. An inspiration to meet you.
