25.01.2022 Arcare Malvern East's gardening club meets on a weekly basis to tend to the various raised garden beds in the courtyard and discuss all things horticulture. The group enjoy weeding, pruning, planting and providing general maintenance and love to their garden. Currently the garden beds are stocked with various fresh vegetables, herbs and fruits. ... Recently on a lovely sunny morning, the residents from the gardening club worked alongside Lifestyle Coordinator, Tina to harvest their ripe lettuce crop. The lettuce was cleaned and used in a Greek salad for all to enjoy at dinner. After all the hard work was done, the residents lounged back in the outdoor chairs, feeling #grateful for their garden, the fresh air and the sunshine.

25.01.2022 Do you love puzzles as much as Freda does? Freda at Arcare Kanwal is such a big fan of puzzles that you will often find her working on her puzzles from morning tea to dinner. When asked what she loves most about puzzles, she said, ‘I like to keep my mind active and puzzles help me with this.’ And this is certainly true as in just a few short weeks, Freda can easily complete two complicated puzzles! Upon finishing them, Freda wastes no time in starting her next challenge, #gra...teful for the opportunity to put her concentration skills and patience to the test once again. 23.01.2022 Resident Keith at Arcare Springwood is quite the pool shark; he can often be found grabbing his cue and taking his best shot on our new pool table. The Lifestyle team are encouraging anyone who hasn't played pool before to give it a try. It’s as simple as lining up your pool tip with the cue ball and hitting away! 21.01.2022 In August, the Arcare Malvern East Lifestyle team launched the community's new Recipe Club. This was a great opportunity for residents to share their recipes, culinary knowledge and skills, and discuss their passion for cooking and baking with like-minded individuals. During the club's first meeting, the ladies enjoyed reminiscing about how and what they would cook with their grandmothers and mothers. This inspired many to share a few of their own family's favourite meals and... recipes. The four founding club members spread the word after the first meeting and membership is now flourishing. The club has banded together to discuss, select and create some old-fashioned favourite recipes, which they hope will be included on the Malvern East menu. Over the next few months, Malvern East's Recipe Club will be collating a mixture of personal recipes, as well as sorting through sixty old-fashioned recipe books, in order to find the perfect soup, main meal, sweets and dessert recipes. The club hope that through their thorough research and discussion, they will be eventually be able to compile all of their passion, knowledge, years of experience and beloved memories into a community cookbook. What are some of your favourite family recipes?
