Our interior designer, Lily Vaughan, opens up about her creative process. ‘Using warm finishes such as timbers and plush textures I think achieves a homely feel,’ Lily tells us. ‘I like to keep the main finishes simple throughout the facility and then layer with décor and artwork. Textural elements such as cushions and throws help make a space feel warm and inviting. Rose has enviable skills as a singer, dancer, gymnast, and magician. "I grew up in showbiz and my mum, who was featured in many musicals, taught me everything." Rose’s father was one of the original ANZACs in Gallipoli fighting in the front line. During that time, they were constantly writing to each other, buildi...ng a beautiful bond as father and daughter. Show business was her creative outlet and her life. Rose starred in musicals as a child and even played Shirley Temple performing in shows such as Kazzam. Rose also showcased her talent for soldiers fighting the war. 05.01.2022 I’ve been dining at the same table in the time that I’ve been there. There’s another gentleman, Gus, who has become a close friend. We have a lot of fun swapping experiences and jokes. Gus told me when I first arrived, "You will really like it here!’" And he’s right, I do like it here. It’s because they make us welcome and look after us properly. I’ve been here for 16 months now, I have to accept that I’m now in a home and will be for the rest of my life because I have a cancer and it’s incurable.
