25.01.2022 Ian Grove, Mount Waverley is a grand scale French Provincial style residence which was recently constructed. Our clients brief was to design something which was exemplary and which demonstrated a sense of classical sophistication. The resulting design utilises ornamental façade compositions and grand proportions. Façade treatments act as layers of refinement lifting the building form and adding detailed articulation to its appearance. The internal design and layout allows for... a great sense of flow through spacious and opulent corridor spaces. The living spaces to the rear descend down into the site working with the site topography whilst accentuating a sense of grandeur in the substantial height within these open living zones. The flow progresses beyond into the external landscape and pool zones in the rear yard which were an important consideration of this design. The upstairs zones are encapsulated around an open stair case and void with circulation spaces and a retreat space flowing off this centralised zone. The stair features allow for the classical elegance achieved in this proposal to integrate between the levels. The interiors are a successful fusion of classical with contemporary styling. Ian Grove is a showcase for Archiphor’s abilities to work within various styles of architecture, to be ambitious, and to achieve our client’s vision. See more

01.01.2022 Kyrenia Court, Warrandyte is a grand scale contemporary residence within a semi-rural context on a hill side site with rolling falls. Our clients brief was to design something which was exemplary, original, with grandeur and sophistication. The proposal sits within the hill scape with various elements that cantilever and hover above the ground plane. The façade is a series of curves with box like elements inserted, establishing various facets and orientations to the façade wh...ich follow the shape and natural contours of the site. Feature glazing, with steel and timber cladding, frame off certain volumes of the facade creating a repetitious and compositional affect. The interiors are focused around clean contemporary lines, framing off inspiring panoramic views, and establishing different relationships between internal zones, where areas like the indoor pool integrate with the living and master bedroom zones. Another key focus of the interior design is established in how internal zones integrate with the landscape and rural setting. The landscape is central to the design, with a continuous play on levels and materials altering how the house and site is perceived and experienced at various points. Kyrenia Court is a culmination of various design philosophies and their integration with the landscape achieving a successful project which belongs to this site and context, further showcasing Archiphor’s abilities to design within the contemporary space. 01.01.2022 Disraeli Street, Saint Albans is an 8 townhouse development, comprising of four 4- bedroom townhouses and four 3-bedroom townhouses. The site is a corner site which abuts a public reserve and has access to 2 street frontages. The design is contemporary in form and combines feature skillion roofs with flat roof forms. The combination of brickwork, rendered finishes, timber cladding, glass, and powder coat steel, further provides the design with a compositional contemporary st...yle. The focus of this proposal is to provide larger more substantial dwellings which are proposed with great amenities, excellent natural lighting conditions, and adequate landscape provisions to maintain the prevalent urban qualities found with in its context. The relationship between the proposal and the public reserve enhances the human experience and promotes a sense of openness and spaciousness which was an important design consideration for this proposal.
