24.01.2022 $2500 RAISED - CLIMB FOR CANCER So yesterday our Team did something pretty special. 12 of us got out of bed on a Sunday morning and headed down the Bruce into the city to take part in the annual climb for cancer which was taking place at The Waterfront Tower. The aim was to raise money for the Mater Foundation in an effort to raise awareness and $ to help support people fighting Cancer.... Mater is an iconic Queensland institution who believe that every woman, man and child who is sick or in need should have access to the best possible healthcare, we share these values, which is why we get involved. We not only smashed the event and came an amazing 1st in place out of 410 teams but we also managed to raise $2500 for the Mater Foundation. I'd like to Thank the team for getting up, being part of it and for absolutely smashing it. Great work. Sam

23.01.2022 BEX Asia Singapore Last week, CEO of AMA, Sam Bevis, visited Singapore where he presented at the BEX Asia event showcasing their StructGlass product alongside TILT Industrial Design's, custom operable skylight. Build Eco Xpo (BEX) Asia is an annual gathering of over 12 000 Architects, Building Owners, Developers, Engineers, Facility Managers and Solution Providers to share ideas on the latest products and solutions with a green, sustainable focus in the building industry. Exh...ibitors and visitors to the event were provided with sustainable tips for consideration such as using public transport to and from the event, using e-marketing instead of printed materials and bringing your own water bottles as water dispensers were available on site. With a deep passion for technology, Sam spoke about how the tools used in concept and design have rapidly changed as technology has evolved and that Its time to explore new ways of reviewing designs and understanding the benefits of implementing and leveraging technology for worldwide communication tools that breaks down the barriers between stakeholders in the supply chain, to ensure designs are being maximised for manufacture efficiency, installation ergonomics, and aesthetic appeal. Sam says it has been an extremely humbling experience and he has been overwhelmed by the positive response to StructGlass. 23.01.2022 WRAP UP FROM SHANGHAI TRADE SHOW If Sales is a numbers game, then Shanghai is the place to be! Shanghai China Trade Show - ... A bustling hive of activity is one way to describe the city that is Shanghai, after dark the city seems to come alive in the shade of the night sky right through until the wee hours of the morning. The trade show and the city were nothing short of astonishing, with feats of technology and architecture as far as the eye could see. The people on the streets go about their business like a colony of ants with a form of controlled chaos with scooters and pedestrians interfacing with minimal fuss, a sight to behold. The trade show was not only enormous in stature, it was enormous in size. Each building equating to some two football fields in length and not far off 1 football field in width, with 8 gigantic air conditioning units to each side of the building cooling all the weary bargain hunters. There were some 7 buildings like this making up one block, and the show was spread out over 3 blocks with buses running from block to block in the 38-degree temperatures. Inside the trade show was like stepping into another dimension with the hustle and bustle of the city and controlled chaos giving way to thousands of foot soldiers hunting down a deal. The AMA StructGlass product that was on display had one thing by the bucket loads that not many others had, Quality! The amount of comments from show participants or rye smiles amongst themselves followed closely by the caressing of the glass showed a talent they had rarely seen. Quality, followed even closer by a cheeky comment of .....that must be expensive! They were blown away when they were told that it wasn’t. The interest was high our display seldom empty wave after wave drove after drove they came until the day became night and Shanghai’s trade show gave way to the hustle and bustle of the city once more. We sampled their cuisine and took in some of the sights and nightlife and were also lucky enough to share in their artistic culture, which was quite possibly, dare I say it! The highlight of the trip! That was a typical day, then we would head to Blankie Bay and do it all again the next day. Thank you AMA, it’s an experience that I will never forget. 05.01.2022 Last week was monumental for our industry, as the Australian Balustrade Association (ABA) was officially launched at Elite Glass in Melbourne. The ABA's core goal is to ‘get serious about safety' and prevent injury and loss of life, by working to ensure that balustrade products are safe and fit for purpose. In a lively discussion at the launch, there was agreement that the industry needs a nationally uniform and easy-to-understand set of standards. Those of us who work wit...h balustrades will agree that deciphering the standard has been a struggle and the certification process too complex. As part of the group of leaders on The Sunshine Coast involved in setting up this association, we support the ABA in making our industry wiser and more powerful. Australian families need to have confidence in the safety of their buildings and be protected from poorly constructed and installed balustrades. As the demand for our products and services continue to increase and with a large portion of our install work going on in Brisbane it makes sense to have a base there. So now our AMA project managers have a base to work from, its better business practice and much more professional which is something we strive to maintain in our bus...iness. AMA are establishing a footprint, and creating awareness of our brand in the SEQ market, waving the flag that shouts that AMA is here to stay! The new AMA Brisbane Headquarters is on the intersection of Stanley Street East and Cavendish Rd, Coorparoo, its location is ideal and only 10 minutes from the city centre. Our Project managers Taylor Bevis, Anthony Simons and Ken Richards will be based full time at our new Brisbane office. Some of our drafting staff have already been making use of the new premises working from Brisbane rather than commuting up the coast.
