22.01.2022 Our appreciation for the space in and around our homes has shifted in light of the restrictions we have faced this year, with emphasis on how our surroundings affect our mental and physical wellbeing. Surrounded by spectacular coastal sandstone formations and native coastal landscape, the Harbord Diggers intergenerational community hub in Freshwater offers seniors living residents ultimate flexibility with operable facades and flexi-rooms to accommodate varying lifestyle requ...irements, and how the apartment engages with the headland environment. A dramatic sunken garden at the centre of the project brings light and air to the various layers of mixed programs below and are planted with endemic species that mimic the natural occurrence of verdant species within the protected crevices of the headland, providing a serene environment for residents to relax outdoors. 19.01.2022 Lucas Primary School in Ballarat is the first of four Victorian primary schools delivered as part of the New Schools 2020 project for the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA). Fundamentally, our goal is to provide warm, welcoming and engaging learning environments that will help teachers facilitate continuous, connected and collaborative learning experiences for every child. Each learning neighbourhood houses two learning communities comprising nine purposefully designe...d learning settings including; a presentation space, small rooms for meetings and learning support, zones for collaboration, reading nooks, and dedicated spaces for wet and messy activities. These spatially diverse environments permit a wide variety of expressive languages and modes of learning by enabling children and teachers to choose the setting that best suits their needs. They can also customise each setting by organising loose furniture and mobile storage units according to their specific activities. 12.01.2022 It is well documented that having a connection with nature is good for our health, well-being and happiness, and having access to nature has become even more important to us in recent times. Located on a hillside above gum forest sloping towards Shrimptons Creek, NATURA responds to its sites rich ecological context as well as the evolving character of the burgeoning Macquarie Park precinct in Sydneys north-west. These connections to the creek and forest and the nearby Lane... Cove National Park set the tone of the residential project, which links deeply with nature. Architectus worked with ecology and biodiversity consultancy, SLR and landscape architects, Aspect Studios to ensure the project respected, preserved and connected to these rich natural environments. Built to the height of the neighbouring gum forest, the local sandstone and timber that comprise the open ground plane and podium level echo the tonal and material qualities of these native trees. Communal gardens, gathering spaces, an open-air pool, and new footpaths and bike trails extend residents connections with nature and the outdoors. 04.01.2022 Its not only the aesthetics or location of a home that make it a pleasant place to live, but also the sustainability principles that have been incorporated into the design to create living spaces that are comfortable, healthy and sustainable. 01.01.2022 Today we are celebrating with John Holland the topping out of 275 George Street. Our team joined John Holland, the Honourable Rob Stokes, the Lord Mayor Clover Moore and the wider project team to mark the construction milestone at a formal celebration held on the rooftop. The boutique office building occupies a significant location in Sydneys central business district at the gateway where George Street transitions from an environment of towers and open space to a street defi...ned by podia and street walls. This prominent location means the building enjoys an exceptional outlook to the north and east. The architectural language is defined by a finely detailed glazed curtain wall with vertical sandstone elements that speak to the history of the city and use of sandstone as a defining material of Sydneys colonial history. The new corner A-Grade office tower has been upgraded mid-construction to meet the latest PCA standards and incorporates additional automation to reduce the physical touchpoints for future tenants and visitors. Targeting a 5 Star Green Star and 5 Star NABERS Energy rating, the 15-storey, 7200 m2 NLA building includes typical column free floorplates of 500 m2 NLA, ground and subterranean retail and premium end of trip facilities.
