23.01.2022 Wild Seeds - sounds wildly awesome! This regenerative event happening in our bioregion this weekend!
23.01.2022 Arcoora team members have a strong representation in this initiative, having written the submission to Council, provided the artwork and imagined the new name - The KRIC! Kyogle's new Resource Innovation Centre, will divert valuable materials from landfill for reuse, support social enterprise, arts and sustainability education projects. ... Watch as we transform this tin shed into a treasure trove for tinkerers!
22.01.2022 What a beautiful parting message from Zinzi, a surprise volunteer that stayed on after participating in the Bluegum Bushcraft Mentor Training event last weekend. So grateful to be building such inspired and meaningful global village connections!
21.01.2022 ~ Planting Trees in Times of Drought ~ After watering in the newly planted koala habitat trees in the riparian zone this morning we refilled our fire trailer for the ready. With so many fires burning all around us, smoke on the air and an eerie golden light from the early afternoon, our community have been preparing for the very real possibility of fire in our valley. Rainforest plant species are dying, casuarinas too, and even the leaves on some gum trees are pale and crisp.... There are few weeds this year, leaving the earth bare and cracking up in places, only a few weeds continue to thrive, such as the thistles that have an intelligence that holds water in its sap, reaching further down for moisture and nourishment. The creek has been dry for months. Seeing the impact of drought on the land and creatures everyday we are connected with how thirsty the web of life here is. How the earth longs for the cleansing flush of rain or the hot purge of fire and fever to bring balance where there is stagnation, dehydration and toxicity. And yet a short trip a couple of hours to the west of here reminds us of the deserts that stretch across this great land mass. Even the neighbouring paddocks, stripped bare of trees, brown and yellow, scrawny cows reaching their necks beyond the barbed fences for grass, stir grief and feelings of hopelessness, helplessness in me, draining my power for some moments. We have so far to go. And then the grief, as it does, spins around into dreaming... What if we all just started with the creeks and rivers and planted trees? If forests attract rain, and if rain is life, why don’t we just bring back the forests?

11.01.2022 Every night we hear the grunting of our koala companions, somewhere in the darkness of the forest. Recently we observed the primal interplay of mother and baby koala taking refuge from a keen male koala in the high branches of a tallowwood tree. Register now for this free koala habitat workshop, happening right here @ Gesar Springs, Collins Creek, NSW... 2nd November, 2019
11.01.2022 Our dance floor stirs from its slumber... Do you feel the dancer stirring in you? Here at Arcoora HQ we are warming up for the Dancing Freedom Facilitator Training 2019, 324 November, and we are so excited!... Dance is one of the most primal art forms for personal and community connection. Coming together to dance is something humans have always done, and it is as relevant to do so today as it has ever has been. To dance consciously is somatic practice. Dance to release tension, to move energy, to pray, inspire, imagine. With the single most powerful technology we have our bodies we can change our minds and create new worlds. We are over the moon to be hosting the Dancing Freedom Facilitator training again in just two weeks, here at our rainforest retreat near Kyogle, NSW Australia. It is an intensive training that will enable you to bring conscious dance experiences to your local community. The curriculum includes: - Mindfulness as moving mediation - Movement Education Fundamentals: Space, Time, Rhythm, Momentum and Composition - Class planning, design and innovating your own curriculum - Being a ‘conscious DJ’ - how to create magic with your own playlists - The Power of Intent: setting & holding space, how to use your voice and your presence to ‘master’ the room - Universal templates for creating ceremony & personal and planetary prayer - The Six Patterns of total body connectivity & the five essential movements (basic somatics) And much more To discover more about the training and how to participate visit the Dancing Freedom website https://www.dancingfreedom.com/curriculum/ Testimonials ‘I came into this training knowing that I wanted to facilitate dance, but lacking a form that I trusted, and also not thinking of myself as qualified. I came out of this training with an experiential knowing of Dancing Freedom, feeling qualified to teach, and with a wealth of gifts I never could have anticipated. I’ve gone from waiting to live my passion, to living it. All-in-all, it was better than imagined.’ - Alicia G. Dancing Freedom empowered me to explore and appreciate the full range of human emotion and the many levels of connection we have with each other, all animals, plants, and the earth.’ - Eliza S. The training will be held by Pheonix Marolda [Dancing Freedom Director and head facilitator] and Caitlin Wood, who as a team bring their vivacious passion for the work and for healing the planet. Places are now available to join the 2019 training. Do a ‘Deep Dive’ for one week or come for the full three-week immersion - 22 day Embodied Leadership Facilitator Training and Soul Quest Retreat.
