23.01.2022 The brief - capture Kaboom! doing what he loves best. For him, this is anything water related. Wait until you guys get a load of the not-so-sedate water ones!

20.01.2022 Dear All - there is absolutely no connection between these two pictures. Sincerely, Echo

17.01.2022 REHOMING REQUESTS As you are aware ABR's focus is on pound needies, yet we will accept surrenders under very exceptional circumstances (usually medical in nature). For those seeking to rehome their bears we do offer an Assisted Rehoming Service which basically means if they are desexed, up to date with their vaccinations and are not subject to any menacing or dangerous dog orders, you hold onto them whilst we find them a home using our normal process.... As of tonight, 21 February 2021, we are unable to facilitate any more Assisted Rehoming requests until 2 April 2021 at the earliest - we will let you all know. This is both due to the number of requests that have come through this weekend, and also due to operational requirements for the bears already in our care. If your request is time sensitive your options are: - contact your breeder (which if they are pedigree you should be doing anyway first up) - investigate alternate rescue organisations - surrender to your local pound - make an appointment to surrender to the RSPCA or Animal Welfare League Thank you.

14.01.2022 Ushi spent the weekend with Auntie Julianne... who used this as an excuse to catch up with a friend who she hadn't seen in a while. She may have used Aunty Renee for her garden... but shhhh!!! Huge thanks to both you lovely ladies xxx We're very close to putting Ushi's adoption profile up. Sufficient time has passed since her season we feel confident in having her desexed this week... and the lovely Sarina from Fuzz Design has already taken her glamour shots... so we're alm...ost good to go. So stay tuned folks... we'll leave you with a fabulous endorsement from J: "This weekend I had the absolute pleasure of getting my heart broken by falling in love with ushanka llama bobblehead or ushi for short. I don’t know what spell she cast but I believe she is one special girlfriend. She also met auntie Renee and stole a piece of her heart along the way. Ushi is a rescue from Arctic Breed Rescue - please hold her in your heart too so she finds a perfect forever home. Until then she has lots of good people on her team. Ive said goodbye and good luck but I’ll be watching out for updates on her travels."

13.01.2022 I got it wrong - they met Leo and Archie tonight! So... if you saw this walking down your inner west suburban street.... how would you react? I may get it wrong - I'll be corrected if I do - left to right we have Leo, Archie, Bentley and Matilda.

12.01.2022 If you've been around these parts for a while, you'll remember we were operational in QLD for a while and you will likely know Tan who used to foster for us. Tan, Luke & The Kids eventually joined our list of foster failures when Peace the Akita crossed their threshold. Having lost Peace two years ago they were ready to welcome another Arctic into their lives. That girl just so happened to be Mercy. Yesterday I should have been making a post with lots and lots of pics, of a... dedicated family driving all the way from QLD to take their new little girl into their loving care. We're no strangers to loss. We love our oldies oh-so-much, and the ultimate way of honouring them is to listen when they tell us their time has come. Mercy was a bubba - her passing has not been easy and it's just hit home that much harder. We'll reach that point when we can remember her without water getting into our eyes, but rather smiles over her joy of life and her antics. We're just not there yet. Although they had not met her in dog as yet, to say that the Miller family is not in mourning would be false. No little girl would ever have been loved as hard, which made it easier on us to let her go become part of their family. Struggling with their own feelings and emotions over the last few days, Karena and Phil wanted to honour the Miller's devotion and funded a gorgeous keepsake for them - now she really is the brightest star in the night sky. <3 <3 <3

12.01.2022 FAR NSW SOUTH COASTERS!!! I've just spoke with this boy's carer from the AWL and he sounds positively scrumptious. Here's what I know: - very affectionate and loves being around his people... - happy within his 5ft fence boundaries - unicorn! - has been an only child to date but since going into care loves playing with dogs his size or larger (no smalls or puppies, he doesn't get their size difference) - will need housetraining for inside/outside access - further work required on lead walking - until now being walked was a foreign concept to him - no cats/pocket pets - will resource guard his toys so no young kids please until that is worked on If you are interested in meeting this boy click his original link or contact his carer direct on 0487 183 612. You'll see a comment under his post that he has been rehomed - that is incorrect he is most definitely still available. Hop to it and let's see if we can get him a home for Christmas!

It's been tough waiting until Week 6 for a progress weigh in but I think I've got this.... 05.01.2022 Huge thanks to Sarina from Fuzz Design for turning her talents towards the one... the only... Ushi. We are so grateful for the support! Yes, you can add Showpony to Ushi's list of talents..... Now for a little bit of seriousness, we ask that you send Ushi, Karena and Phil some love for there were some complications after her spey. This is no-one's fault - in fact we're thankful to our vet for all his advice and concern - but sometimes, as that saying goes "shit happens". T...he good news is she seems to have turned the corner, ate some dinner this evening and is venturing for a stretch of the legs. Our eternal gratitude to her 'rentals, pretty sure their night was literally spent lying beside her and watching her like a hawk <3 x <3

02.01.2022 This must be what Utopia looks like aka feeding time at the zoo. I met Mr B late this afternoon when he introduced himself to Dr Michael to investigate a small wound on his side - the area was shaved, no evidence of a foreign body (possibly grass seed) left behind and he's now got some chlorohexidine to keep it clean. The 'rentals will be keeping an eye on it. Bentley has some osteoarthritis so we've started him on the initial course of Zydex shots and will see which of th...e holy trinity - Antinol, 4Cyte or Rose Hip Vital - works best for him. A credit to his breed his mission was to (at least try to) greet every feline and canine at the clinic. He spent the majority of the day glued to Alex's side, providing input into sales strategy and increasing the bottom line by 1 million percent. Then when Wyatt got home it became all about him! Bentley is taking all these changes to his world in stride - his love knows no bounds and all he wants is to be around his people. Or very gently and politely attempting to steal the chicken you're taking out of the fridge.... The other three spent the day exhausting each other, getting kicked out of the house when it all got too much... and earning the nickname "The Three Trollops". Pretty sure I'm in for a treat when I meet Matilda - apparently she's "sassier than a drag queen"
