He has been designing a...nd manufacturing composting toilets in the Northern Rivers area for over 10 years and has a wealth of knowledge about their function and how to avoid common pitfalls. Stuart will give a talk about how to build a simple sawdust toilet, elaborate on some of the common designs in current use, cover council approvals and Australian standards, discuss some innovations in waste water and composting technology and answer any questions you may have regarding your own toilets or septic systems. Pooh Solutions provides safe, sanitary and simple solutions for the treatment, re-use and disposal of human by-products (what our body no longer needs). Everyone uses a toilet, but seldom stops to think about where and how their by-products will be used or disposed of. We spend a lot of time thinking about just that. Our driving philosophy is keep things simple. We achieve this by using ecology, biology and where possible, gravity, to power our systems. We take pride on having the least number of moving parts possible whilst still producing the best quality effluent and composted end products. Our eco-sanitation approach means that while other products rely heavily on power and replacement of pumps and aerators, our systems work seamlessly with little maintenance that can be carried out by the owner.
