20.01.2022 The fourth conference in the Regenerating Places of Faith series will be held on 27th October 2018 building on the ideas shared at the successful 2017 confere...nce Starting the Conversation. With More Conversation we continue to explore the opportunity of the present moment: How can we connect community groups with local congregations to improve social cohesion and neighbourhood resilience? As congregations re-imagine their life and mission, how should they evaluate their role as custodians of community assets? How might congregations and community groups work together to restore and re-purpose church buildings as functional spaces for community use? What wider community resources can be harnessed to maintain, restore and re-imagine our historic churches? Regenerating Places of Faith seeks to bring together local congregations, denominational leaders, civil society, government agencies, and property professionals, to explore and answer these questions. Speakers will explore the community perspective on local congregations and their churches, and present case studies from Australia and internationally on developing effective links between community groups and congregations. For more information and to book your place please visit: https://www.nationaltrust.org.au//regenerating-places-of-/

Many thanks to all involved in the project, especially to our client, Adelaide Cemeteries Authority. The project will now progress to the National Architecture Awards to be announced in November.

14.01.2022 Working From Home has never been so normal. We are having to get creative about how we can adapt our spaces. https://arcuatearchitecture.com.au//innovation-in-home-wo/

14.01.2022 Interesting links to present and future views of the architectural profession, albeit the RIBA report was produced back in 2011 and the minutes of the Association of Professional Architects were from July 2013 (there appear to be no more recent ones online). Much of what was said, though, is still relevant and I believe the professional needs to become more innovative in the services it provides to meet the needs of clients. http://www.professionalsaustralia.org.au//Minutes_...-_30_Jul http://www.buildingfutures.org.uk//The_Future_for_Architec

11.01.2022 The demise of an audacious project in London. The new footbridge to the Adelaide Oval would have been fantastic as a Garden Bridge, albeit its not wide enough to take humans let alone trees! https://www.architectsjournal.co.uk/10022481.article

11.01.2022 A reminder of the conference that took place October 2017. We look forward to co-ordinating the follow on conference planned for October 2018.

07.01.2022 I hope a survey of architectural students in Adelaide wouldnt paint as bleak a picture as this survey of UK students has. Im sure that Brexit will lead to more limited opportunities for UK students on mainland Europe, which cant be helping.

07.01.2022 How we approach life post-Coronavirus will be interesting. The relationship between science and design is bound to get stronger. We weigh in on the conversation. https://arcuatearchitecture.com.au//heres-to-collaboratio/
