Often our wire rope and fittings go into applications that are designed not to be seen, however, are vitally important to the overall design or concept. Here is the perfect example from one of our clients in Melbourne, Victoria. Bespoke Wire & Rope and Skunk Control were engaged by Pacific Werribee Shopping Centre to install a series of suspended flower art pi...eces in the lead up to Science Week. Due to the nature of the supporting structure, no permanent fixings or additional steelwork were allowed to be used. A network of custom made round slings and tensioned stainless wires were utilised to create a discreet system of hanging points and ultimately keep everyones attention on the artwork. White PVC coated hamma X strand tensioned wires, in conjunction with hamma Industrial fittings, were used between the custom made rope slings to create the suspension points for each flower. Arcus Wire Group worked with AWMA Water Control Solutions in this project and are proud to see them recognised for such a key project. ASSDA Member AWMA successfully delivered 91 stainless steel water control gates across the projects irrigation system assets. AWG were engaged by AWMA to assist in the design and supply of... 20mm, 7x19, grade 304 stainless steel wire rope cables for the purposes of raising and lowering the water control gates. 130 cables were supplied (two cables installed per LayFlat gate), with an individual Minimum Breaking Strength (MBS) of over 27,000kgf. Arcus Wire Group and AWMA collaboratively designed the bespoke cable end terminations to suit the specified MBS, and the manufacture of these products were completed in-house by Arcus Wire Group.
