25.01.2022 No time for sleeping, but plenty of time for fun as Pre-School celebrated the snuggest day of the year. Our littlest learners participated in National Pyjama Day, an initiative of The Pyjama Foundation, and wore their favourite pyjamas to school as well as helped to raise awareness and funds for children in foster care. #pyjamaday #preschool #thepyjamafoundation #ardenanglicanschool #coeducation #wellknown #wellcaredfor #welltaught #christianeducation #becompassionate

24.01.2022 Many faculties hosted HSC workshops over the school holidays, including Modern History, Drama, Design and Technology and Physics. Here are some images of the outstanding creativity from our Year 12 Visual Arts students. To quote our Visual Art Faculty Vision Statement "Visual Arts is a discipline that creates an intersection for Critical Thinking, Creativity and Communication. The most appropriate definition of art is where we seek to create something of value from our understanding of the world, in order to communicate that value to the audience". Congratulations to our Year 12 students whose works exemplifies this vision.

24.01.2022 While were living in strange and uncertain times, it can be easy to forget that we still have much to be thankful for. This week we will celebrate Thanksgiving Week, where we will be reminded daily (by our House Leaders at both our Junior and Secondary Campuses) to be courageous and grateful, because our God keeps His promises to love and care for us. On Wednesday we will be holding our annual Thanksgiving Service screened and available for viewing by all members of our Arden School Community. #ardenanglicanschool #coeducation #wellknown #wellcaredfor #welltaught #Thanksgivingweek #Chrsitianeducation #becourageous

24.01.2022 Back by popular demand, our webinar series is designed to introduce future families to our School, at a time when we are unable to offer campus tours due to physical distancing restrictions. If you are interested in knowing more about an Arden education, join with us to hear from our Principal, learn about the enrolment process and have your questions answered. 23.01.2022 Well it's obvious Year 1 can attribute their good looks to their Dads, as you can see in their awesome portraits. Dads make the world more fun, even if they do tell the worst jokes. 23.01.2022 Our Junior School students jumped into their jammies and jerseys for J Day and took part in lots of fun activities to raise funds for Jenolan's nominated charity Anglican Aid. Here are some photos of Year 5 enjoying their special day.

21.01.2022 This week our Year 2 mathematicians have been continuing to learn about variety, change, measurement and probability. Our students were measuring and comparing their growing apple trees and creating concrete name plaques to accompany their trees when they are planted in the garden. These trees will grow with our students and be a wonderful reminder of their entry into the Investigating Maths Competition. #wellknown #wellcaredfor #welltaught #weheartmaths #weheartapples #weheartarden #weheartyear2 #teaching #learning #coeducation #maths #ardenanglicanschool #becurious

20.01.2022 Over the past 12 months the Secondary Co-Curricular Group SWAM (Students with a Mission), have been meeting each Friday at lunchtime to knit squares and sew blankets which are donated to Wrap with Love. Even with the challenges of COVID which saw many students continue knitting from home, this group of about 40 students have managed to complete 26 blankets in the past 12 months. 18.01.2022 Congratulations to Kelli and Jay Kean (both Class of 2013) who celebrated their wedding this month. They were supported by their bridal party which was entirely made up of Arden Alumni - most of whom have been friends since Kindergarten. Despite COVID-19 putting a dampener on their wedding preparations, Kelli and Jay decided to go ahead with their ceremony on 4 July and will hold their reception next year. They were married at St Swithuns Anglican Church in Pymble in front of their closest family and friends. May the years ahead be filled with every blessing for you both. 18.01.2022 With Vultures, V-Wings, Spinners, Gliders and Basic Darts in hand, the Junior School Tech Club competed in their annual Paper Plane Throwing Competition, noting the advantages and disadvantages of heavier noses, longer wings and sleeker bodies to achieve greater distance, fancier acrobatics and accuracy. According to Guinness World records, the "longest indoor distance flown by a paper airplane" is 69.14 metres, set in 2012. 17.01.2022 Junior campus alumna, Emily Van Haarlem (nee Palethorpe), has shared some photos of a time capsule she put together in 1991 whilst in Year 6 at Arden, with Ms French as her teacher. The instructions on the side of the capsule were very specific: "Open in 2020 on your 41st birthday, in the presence of family and friends, and if any of the rules are broken the owner of the capsule must drink a cup of sea water!" The fascinating contents include: poems and letters from friends, ...a cassette tape, an Arden Green Note (remember them?), magazine clippings, newspaper articles, a description of life in 1991, a lock of hair and a friendship bracelet. 16.01.2022 Canberra Day! This year due to COVID-19 our Year 6 students were unable to go on their annual Canberra excursion, so Miss Williams and Mr Hooworth arranged for Canberra to come to them! Over four days they got to experience many of the activities they would have done in Canberra such as visiting Parliament House, The War Memorial and Questacon. They learnt about the high commissions and preferential voting and were lucky enough to attend an online meeting with former MP, Mr Jim Lloyd. The incursion was rounded out by visits to the National Museum where they learnt about Migrant Stories and the National Portrait Gallery. They even got to create their very own Jackson Pollock inspired drip painting. A fantastic time was had by all. #canberra #incursion #welltaught #ardenanglicanschool #coeducation

10.01.2022 Across Victoria, students and their families are experiencing challenging times with the state being in various stages of lockdown yet again. However, this second wave of the pandemic is now also beginning to impact other areas of Australia. Riding this corona coaster and navigating the ups and downs of the current reality is proving to be confronting for many people. The uncertainty of not knowing what will happen next may have an impact on many students and their families.... There is a concern that mental health issues such as anxiety, depression and substance abuse, will increase, especially amongst young people. In the coming weeks, it will be vital for adult carers to reduce the stress levels at home and make life seem more manageable. As an adult carer, it will also be essential to look after your own wellbeing during this time. Ensure you make time to de-escalate your own nervous system and maintain your sleep routine, healthy eating habits, get some regular exercise and reach out virtually to friends and family. In this Special Report from SchoolTV, families are encouraged to embrace the guidance offered to help minimise the impact of this corona coaster and we hope you take time to reflect on the information offered. If you do have any concerns about the wellbeing of your child, please contact the school for further information or seek medical or professional help. Here is the link to the report which we are happy to share with both current and future families of our School Community. https://arden.nsw.schooltv.me//special-report-riding-coron
