13.01.2022 Last week the ARDS Board and staff opened up our new training center in Nhulunbuy, Wawurr where our Cultural Competency Training will be held. The new facility can house up to 16 people and has state of the art video conferencing facilities available. 11.01.2022 Yow bukmak, Telstra is down across all of Arnhem Land right now. We don't know the whole story, but we heard that Telstra djämamirr mala are working to fix the... problem. Maybe phones, internet and the radio will be working again by this evening. Until then, we can't call family in East Arnhem Land, and they can't call us or go on the internet. We are trying to find out more story and will let you know when we hear any news.

07.01.2022 NT Chief Minister Michael Gunner recently paid our Nhulunbuy office a visit to launch our new East Arnhem Cultural Competency Training (CCT) program. The Chief Minister and his family met ARDS’ directors and staff (some of whom gave baby Hudson some very special attention!) He announced that all NT Government employees in north east Arnhem Land will undertake ARDS’ Cultural Competency Training program. He also announced a major upgrade to ARDS’ Yolu Radio office, including a... dedicated CCT training facility. ARDS Chair Gawura Waambi said this was a major milestone for north east Arnhem Land. Yolu and Balanda these are two worlds. There is a small space somewhere in between these worlds where we can meet in the middle. A place of understanding. And with this understanding, we can work together. This Cultural Competency Training program will help us meet in the middle and build a better future in East Arnhem Land. On next Monday, October 19, CDP is starting again in all the communities Ramingining, Milingimbi, Gapuwiyak, Galiwin’ku, Yirrkala, Gunyaara, Nhulunbuy, and homelands.... Everyone receiving that ‘Jobseeker’ Centrelink money has to go to CDP again on Monday, or it might affect their payments.
