07.01.2022 NT Chief Minister Michael Gunner recently paid our Nhulunbuy office a visit to launch our new East Arnhem Cultural Competency Training (CCT) program. The Chief Minister and his family met ARDS’ directors and staff (some of whom gave baby Hudson some very special attention!) He announced that all NT Government employees in north east Arnhem Land will undertake ARDS’ Cultural Competency Training program. He also announced a major upgrade to ARDS’ Yolu Radio office, including a... dedicated CCT training facility. ARDS Chair Gawura Waambi said this was a major milestone for north east Arnhem Land. Yolu and Balanda these are two worlds. There is a small space somewhere in between these worlds where we can meet in the middle. A place of understanding. And with this understanding, we can work together. This Cultural Competency Training program will help us meet in the middle and build a better future in East Arnhem Land. ARDS online Cultural Competency Training is available now, and we will soon be launching face-to-face workshops for organisations in Nhulunbuy and Darwin. Check it out at https://ards.com.au/cultural-competency-training/. Thanks very much to the Chief Minister and DCM for their visit and support, and to our other guests including current MP Yiiya Guyula and former member Lynne Walker.

07.01.2022 Yow walal, this is a story about CDP. Anyone who was going to CDP at the start of the year should listen to this story, so you don’t have any problems with your Centrelink payments. On next Monday, October 19, CDP is starting again in all the communities Ramingining, Milingimbi, Gapuwiyak, Galiwin’ku, Yirrkala, Gunyaara, Nhulunbuy, and homelands.... Everyone receiving that ‘Jobseeker’ Centrelink money has to go to CDP again on Monday, or it might affect their payments. And anyone who has moved to a different community, call Centrelink and tell them your new address. Listen to the full story: https://soundcloud.com/ards/rm-cdp-c19-dhawu-v11-16102020-2 ALPA
