23.01.2022 2019 Mudgee Small Farm Field Days was an incredible event for our team of young volunteers! The MYAG tent would not be possible without these amazing young adults who have a passion for agriculture and a genuine interest in educating the younger generation. Our next project is a fantastic reward for their efforts - but also a lot of hard work - and of course there will be learning along the way... the MYAG team hope to purchase steers to fatten and handle in preparation for ...the Upper Hunter Beef Bonanza, in Scone, in late October. We need to start the ball rolling NOW to purchase the steers as well as appropriate feed and resources. The team will then spend hours upon hours to feed and train the steers for parading in Scone. Do you think you could help? Would you like to make a cash donation or do you have hay or grain you could donate? All sponsorship will be recognised and appreciated and your reward is knowing you have contributed to the next generation of Australian Agriculture! Please contact us via Facebook or the AREC office on 63723899 or email [email protected] to chat about our team and up coming project. #MYAG #MudgeeYouthinAGriculture #AustralianAgriculture #thenextgeneration #youthinag

16.01.2022 Group 11 Young Judges and Paraders Final in Dubbo today was another fantastic event for the MYAG Team! 7 of our members traveled across to Dubbo very early this morning to parade our two steers, Bam Bam and Lyal, or judge in the group final competition over 7 different sections: beef cattle, merino sheep, meat breeds sheep, poultry, fleece, grain, and fruit & vegetable. All members worked together to prepare the cattle for Brooke, Maddie and Abbey to parade, w...ith Abbey being selected from the heats for the final. Maddie placed 3rd in the grain judging and Cooper placed 3rd in the fruit & vegetable judging - both proceeding through to the State Final at the Sydney Royal Easter Show in 2020! All others who competed in the judging competitions made it through to the speech section, for some it was two, and all made us very proud for stepping out of their comfort zone. Thank you to the Dubbo Show Society for hosting the day on behalf of the Western Group 11 of Agricultural Societies Council of NSW Ltd and for having us along to your event! #agshowsnsw #bestinshow #youngjudges #beffcattleparaders #ASC #ASCNextGen #yourlocalclub #ClubsNSW #youthareourfuture #australianagriculture
