17.01.2022 To support our Aboriginal education and the celebrations for NAIDOC week we were really lucky to have had Tara come in to share her knowledge of Aboriginal culture with our students. She held discussions about ways in which Aboriginal people communicated through story telling, wood carvings and picture symbols. She explained and told us stories of their traditions and sacred sights and their meaning. We learned how to greet and farewell each other in Aboriginal language and M...athaii taught us a song. Tara then supported each student to make their own Aboriginal symbol design for our new school sign which will be on display in the near future for all to see. They look amazing. She finished the fun with some traditional face painting for the students. So a huge thank you Tara for sharing your culture and knowledge with us all. It is greatly appreciated. Throughout the school we had other fun activities like storytelling, weaving and transitional games. It was another fabulous day of learning at APS. See more
