Currently, the market is flooded with cheap, poor-quality pieces that are virtually useless after a few years of use. Once these pieces break, they're tossed for curb-side pick-up, only to be replaced by another equally low-quality item, as if there were only disposable to begin with. The solution is not only changing the consumer mindset of 'tossing... when broken', but also shopping with the intention of finding high-quality items that will last a life-time. With that said, here are few simple do's & don'ts for sustainable furniture shopping! Argon Bespoke is run by Pete Symons, who single-handedly crafts each piece with the intention of it lasting a life-time. Pete also offers local clients the the option to have their pieces serviced after wear and tear - bonus!

But how can you tell if your timber is solid wood and not a man-made composite or piece of plastic made to imitate wood? Manufactured wood such as MDF, OSB, and particleboard all have a distinct look that isin nearly all caseseasily distinguishable from the endgrain of real wood. With real timber, look for growth ringsformed by the yearly growth of a treewhich will be a dead-giveaway that the wood sample in question is a solid, genuine chunk of wood taken from a tree. - just like this beauty here!
