25.01.2022 Argo custom rods for VW

25.01.2022 Two sets of High Performance forged steel conrods made from 4340 for a 2 Cylinder BSA. The original conrod sample was made from Aluminium and the instructions from the Engine Builder was to make the rods as light as possible. Weighing just 437 grams within 31 grams of the alluminium sample we were able to achieve this for our customer.

The 202 blocks are so rare and sought after that customers need high quality rods that will last. The Argo rod is slightly longer than the OEM rod which allows for a shorter, lighter higher reving piston to be used at a different pin height. 10.01.2022 Argo are custom rod specialist and we have the great opportunity to learn about the history of so many cars. We made a set of 6 cylinder rods for an Amilcar. There were several models of the Amilcar produced over between 1921 and 1938. Amilcar produced both 4 and 6 cylinder models. In 1924 they produced & introduced a 6 cylinder supercharged dohc 1110cc with a roller bearing crankshaft onto the racing scene.
