15.01.2022 Tomorrow, Tuesday 01 September, Argyle Travel and Cruise turns 20 that’s 20 incredible years since I opened the doors for business on George Street in Millicent. It won’t be a secret that this wasn’t the type of year and won’t include the celebrations, that I had in mind, to acknowledge this milestone. My business was in fact, looking towards record sales this year, along with some annual targets already exceeded in the first half of the financial year ... this has proven o...ur uncapped potential! With this in mind, I wanted to take a moment to thank you all, for the amazing support, friendship and patronage, myself and my team members have enjoyed with you, over the years. I’d also particularly like to thank those really special people that you’ve dealt with at Argyle Travel and Cruise since 2000; Nicole Baker, Abi Cook, Amy Cook (not related!), Holly Somerfield, Rebecca Greening, Sophie Case, Sophie Longbottom and Nicole Thomas. Without any of these ladies, Argyle Travel and Cruise would not be where we are today. So, that does lead us to the question, Where are we today? The past six months have been pretty tough for everyone, the travel industry included. My focus has been to continue wading through cancellations, postponements and refunds. These have taken longer to recover from suppliers, than our clients would like and than we would like. Regardless, I remain 100% committed to ensuring a satisfactory resolution for all our ‘friends we do business with’. I am proud that my intuition has proven itself, in determining when to push further, in negotiations, to seek better results for my clients, than originally offered. Patience has become my virtue as sometimes to sit just a little longer, proves fruitful. At the end of the day, we want to see everyone recover every cent they can. I’ve never been one to accept no for an answer, so rest assured, if you are still waiting for information or money, it is only because I am working on the best result for you. Yesterday we ferried over, smashed Prospect Hill's 500 steps for an amazing lookout and arrived to a friendly welcome, at our very comfy accommodation. 09.01.2022 After agreeing to dinner for last night at Flying Fish Cafe, Port Elliot we had a little difficulty getting a place in town for a one night stay. For my first time ever, we ended up with a double bedded, shared bathroom (I went to boarding school so no problem!) stay at the Port Elliot Beach House YHA, South Australia. It was really clean, comfortable, friendly, welcoming and check out our view!
