23.01.2022 Meet Moose This adorable french bulldog puppy named Moose was transferred to our surgery department last week after fracturing his elbow playing with a larger dog. On arrival it was confirmed that Moose had a humeral lateral condylar fracture and needed surgery. Dr Rui Sul performed the procedure and stabilised Moose's elbow with a transcondylar screw and an alps plate. ... Moose recovered extremely well and even though our power was lost while he was coming out of theatre, he had all the lights and attention on him. Moose was an absolute delight and lapped up every bit of attention from the team. Watch this space to see Moose's recovery in the coming weeks. See more

23.01.2022 Pet Santa Photos Saturday! Saturday coming is our Pet Santa Photos which will be happening from 9am until 2pm here at the ARH at 15/2 Yallourn Street Fyshwick. No appointments necessary just show up and we will have loads of seats outside to wait on.... The greyhound rescue crew who we are raising money for will be here with markets and some greyhounds to meet and greet. Cold drinks will be available also. Photos are $15 which includes instant photo and treat for your pet plus online download will be available same day. We hope to see as many people as possible this Saturday 28th November to raise money for these beautiful hounds.



21.01.2022 Covid restrictions reintroduced Due to recent covid cases at the south coast and Sydney we will be taking extra precautions and going back to a lock door policy. Please call us on arrival and a nurse or veterinarian will be out to triage your pet on arrival.... If invited into the building we ask that only one person per pet please. 12.01.2022 Meet Tigre This is the absolutely cute as a button Tigre who at only 16 weeks old needed surgery yesterday to repair his humeral condylar fracture of his left elbow. Tigre's surgery went well and he was able to go home this-morning on strict rest. ... Our nurses had fun making sure his bandage looked as stylish as possible before he left the building though. 11.01.2022 Bruce gets desexed If you have been following our Facebook page you will know Bruce, who had spinal surgery at 6 months of age which was unfortunately unsuccessful due to his severe spinal abnormality. Despite this, this happy little man decided he could still give life a good go and has learnt to get around and make the most of life. Bruce recently turned one and it was decided that we should desex him and improve his airways to give him the best quality of life. ... In true Bruce style he took it all in his stride and recovered extremely well. Nothing will stop this gorgeous happy boy. See more

04.01.2022 Meet Miso This is the adorable 4 month old staffy named Miso who is so in love with his stuffed toy "Mr Snake", he thought it would be a good idea to eat Mr Snake this Christmas. Miso presented to our emergency department were emesis was induced and as you can see from the below picture Mr Snake came back up in his original form. ... Miso didn't suffer any post snake eating complications although he may be very sad that he has lost his alone time with his favorite toy.

03.01.2022 Celebrating Sugar Sugar has reached her 2 year anniversary since she was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma and had her right hind leg amputated. Sugar has had chemotherapy treatment ever since her surgery and with a few minor set backs, Sugar has today put weight on and is looking amazing.... Sugar even got to be part of her parents wedding day recently. Below is the amazing cake that Sugar's mum bought in for the team to enjoy today to celebrate sugar still being here. See more

We currently have two very unwell cats that received a blood transfusion yesterday and both are in urgent need of more blood.... If your cat meets the following criteria please call us on 62806344. Unfortunately all of our listed cats including staff pets have already donated recently so we are seeking urgent help Is your cat over 12 months old and under 8 years old? Over 5kg? Calm and friendly? Up to date with vaccinations and preferably an indoor only cat? If you answered yes to the above we are begging you to call us. We will blood type your cat to makd sure that they match, run comprehensive blood tests to make sure your cat is healthy and as thanks you will receive a large bag of hills cat food, greenies and all blood work results.
