23.01.2022 Jesus Forgives Our Sin & Shame - Today we heard from Luke 7:36-50 where we see Jesus lifting the sinful woman out of her shame. She came with humility and vulnerability seeking mercy, and she received forgiveness for her sins. She loved much, as she knew how much she was in need of forgiveness. To catch up on todays service you can ask to join the APBC Livestream group, or listen to the sermon podcast via Spotify, Google Podcasts or other apps (Apple podcast now available) via the website: https://anchor.fm/ariah-park-baptist-church
23.01.2022 "Therefore, dont believe in your heart; direct your heart to believe in God. Dont follow your heart; follow Jesus. Note that Jesus did not say to his disciples, Let not your hearts be troubled, just believe in your hearts. He said, Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me (John 14:1)"
21.01.2022 Im tired...but God isnt. 2020 has aged me. Although I am someone who fights hard for autonomy, the past seven months has unveiled my deluded sense of self-su...fficiency. 2020 wobbled my idols of comfort and control, and my throne came crashing down pretty quickly. There are days where I have dissolved into a child-like mess, dramatically begging Simba (my Maltese Shitzu) to live forever and to never leave me behind Although overcoming COVID-19 seemed promising in Australia, the reality of a second wave has been discouraging to say the least. Just yesterday, borders closed, church openings were postponed, and family and friends scrambled to get tested. After months of Zoom fatigue, isolation and cancellations, were back at square oneonly this time, Im exhausted, and Im learning (again) that its ok to feel this way. As a created being, I have been designed with limits. I am needy and dependentmy every breath is at the mercy of my Creator. I wasnt designed to carry the burden of a global pandemic on my bony, little shoulders. You werent either. Instead, our limitations exist to point us to the One who canour Helper and Maker who does not slumber nor sleep (Psalm 121:1-4). 21.01.2022 Who do you believe Jesus is? If He is the Son of God, our Lord and Saviour, then we will gladly follow in His footsteps. Yesterday we looked at Luke 9:18-27, and considered this rather uncomfortable and challenging passage. 19.01.2022 Today we heard from Luke 7:18-35 where John the Baptist asks Jesus the question: Are you the One who is to come, or should we expect someone else? We heard how those with a "childlike" faith trust in God the Fathers plan of sending Jesus as our Messiah (Saviour/Rescuer); while those who are "childish" refuse to see that Jesus is the One that they should have been expecting God to send to save them. To catch up on todays service you can ask to join the APBC Livestream group, or listen to the sermon podcast via Spotify, Google Podcasts or other apps (Apple app still to come) via the website: https://anchor.fm/ariah-park-baptist-church

14.01.2022 Since the arrival of COVID-19, our world has changed. Weve moved from the Pre-COVID Age to the COVID Era. Our knowledge and love of the gospel hasnt chang...ed, but it could be that how to communicate it, and how to apply it, has changed? Just like missionaries we need training and fresh thinking to reach this new world. We have a new weekly video series with SMBC lecturers sharing from their area of expertise and applying it to life in the COVID Era. First up is Rev Dr Kirk Patston: https://buff.ly/3hWkG8D
14.01.2022 This is an interesting article to consider as we live in this Covid Age where we feel restrictions and circumstances have been thrust upon us. The Bible presents a better attitude than a "victim mentality". https://au.thegospelcoalition.org//beware-the-dangers-of-a
12.01.2022 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9

08.01.2022 In todays service on Luke 6:43-49, Jesus tells a couple of short parables about bearing good fruit. He warns us to check our lives for good fruit that grows out of hearts deeply rooted in the Rock of Salvation. To show good fruit in our lives, we need our hearts to be forgiven and healed by Jesus, who died and rose again, so that our sin diseased hearts could be healed. The Bible says without Jesus, our hearts have no hope and are as useful as a rotten orange! Strong words indeed! Check out the APBC Livestream group to see the object lesson and the rest of this mornings service. Or to hear just the sermon, head to the podcast: https://anchor.fm//Luke-643-49--Bearing-Good-Fruit--Sunday

02.01.2022 Luke 8:1-15 | This is a story Jesus told about a farmer sowing seed in various soils. Jesus is teaching us that just as we are called to respond in faith to Gods Word sown in our lives, we are also called to be faithful to the task of sowing Gods Word in the lives of others, always trusting the results to God the Father.
