25.01.2022 GOLLY A COLLIE. Driving down our road one morning, the sunlight on this particular tree allowed this image of a dog to appear. The colours and texture of the bark looked just like a collie dog. I stopped and photographed it. His facial features were drawn on the photo to allow him to be more recognisable by all who look.

23.01.2022 "Oriental buskers in the park" was created by arranging dried leaves and petals of the oriental lily on a piece of butter paper. The sun cast the shadows and I added the detail.

22.01.2022 "Cicadas Dress Rehearsal" was created by photographing a single cicada in different positions, then compiling this composition and adding the instruments and character details. "Stage Fright" was another creation using the same single photo. I loved the detail in this insect.

22.01.2022 CICADAS DRESS REHEARSAL Summer of 2018 was exceptionally hot 40 degrees plus for weeks on end. This Double drummer cicada fell out of a tree and landed on the deck in front of me. I picked it up and noticed how beautiful it was. I photographed it from all sorts of different angles. These photos were then put together as one composition and the detail of each musician was added, using my mouse on the computer to draw with. 21.01.2022 While renovating our kitchen, the sink was removed and placed outside on a table. The following day, I was sitting inside, looking out the window and saw the colour and texture on the outside of the stainless steel bowl. It looked like a sand dune /beach scene. I immediately photographed it and added some simple detail to the photo. It became an artwork called "Long day in the sun" and she is totally scorched!!!!!

21.01.2022 Ari and Kai with their artwork "Painting Parrots"

20.01.2022 "Full steam ahead" the squeaky clean restored 3801 is back on track at the Thirlmere railway museum. Couldnt help but photograph it today.

19.01.2022 FUNKY FASHION Isn't nature wonderful? Beautiful intricate detail on this Australian native flower the Banksia, reminded me of an old fashioned high necked garment. With my clever mouse on my computer I added the linework to create a new "Funky Fashion."

19.01.2022 TAMING THE LACES. Colourful Gerbera flowers make fantastic tall and slender ballerinas. After photographing the flowers, I added the detail making them into little fun characters trying to tie up their laces. The flowers were placed on a white panel in the sun then, photographed.

18.01.2022 THE MOSH PIT As seen in a punnet of cherries. I thought the title was very appropriate. Get it here: https://www.arikaireverseart.com.au//copy-of-birds-on-a-fe

16.01.2022 The dramatic back lighting by the sun of a Salvia bush created this "Afternoon chaos on the green." Spring flowers are fabulous to photograph, come and see other flowers at the Spring Fair this Saturday at Lusciousgear2u in Cobbitty. Ill be there 10 -3pm.

15.01.2022 Back in 2012 when I discovered the concept of Arikai Reverse Art with my grandchildren Ari and Kai, I found the wood stack a fabulous source of inspiration. The colours and textures on this piece of split firewood was one of these that resembles the Australian outback in its own right. The photo was embellished by drawing the barbed wire to the splits in the wood and creating the fence post out of the shadows behind the firewood, all that was needed to complete the artwork was the the birds to create "Birds on a fence"

15.01.2022 DANCING DAFODIL The last surviving daffodil in the vase was removed and hung in front of a black burnt tree. The sun was at a perfect angle to hi-light the colour and shape which resembled a ballerinas dress. Adding her elegant features the dancing daffodil became a solo performer and lives on. 14.01.2022 Ari and Kai enjoyed mucking around with thick paint and in doing so they unwittingly created this fabulous mass of colour in which I saw the parrots . By adding the detail to their artwork, it became "Painting Parrots" a fabulous art print on stretched canvas.

13.01.2022 My Artwork just finished, "Fire at Myrtle Creek" is what I saw in the colour and texture on a burnt metal container on legs, one of Dannys pieces of equipment, lost at Mary and Dannys place, the day the fire swept through, taking almost everything in its path. last October.

13.01.2022 Simple lines can be very descriptive when you put your mind to it. This photo taken by my sister Mary Shields became "Flattering fish" after adding the detail. Thanks Mary for this reedy feast

13.01.2022 FISHERMANS RETREAT The Manly Ferry wharf in Sydney is the location where I saw this image on the wharf pylon. I photographed this image because the colour and texture caught my attention. By rotating the photo 90 degrees the landscape became very obvious as a coastal peninsula, with a lighthouse and distant ocean views and the middle harbour at low tide. Once I added the detail of the boat sheds, the title was decided upon: "Fishermans Retreat" Get it here:... https://www.arikaireverseart.com.au/pr/fishermans-retreat-f See more

11.01.2022 Driftwood colours and textures for beautiful backgrounds for artworks as seen in this creation "Cockatoos Waterhole"

11.01.2022 The summer of 2018 was so very hot that this cicada fell out of a gum tree and landed on the deck. I picked it up and noticed how beautifully detailed it was. I photographed it and then using my mouse on the computer added detail to create this amazing character. "Stage fright" became the title. This is what I call Reverse Art

10.01.2022 Have you ever seen a red hot poker with the bends? This one became a "Red hot parrot"

08.01.2022 Arikai Reverse Art grows! My dear grandson Ari (one of the twins whose artworks instigated Arikai Reverse Art when they where three and half years old(2012), found his name on a lily while on holidays at his other grandparents home. He photographed this flower and sent it to me and excitedly said that he had found his name in this lily. The interest in observing things in nature as I do, has well and truly rubbed off on both Air and Kai . Great kids! I added Aris photo tonight to a photo of Ari I took before they left yesterday.

06.01.2022 While on a Sydney Harbour ferry, I photographed the sun light on the water. The detailed texture and colour became the starting canvas for this artwork called "Glitter in the Gums." It reminded me of the burnt leaves left on the trees in the bush after the bushfire had passed. The golden colour of the burnt leaves, after rain, is a magical scene when lit by the sun.

06.01.2022 It's Spring time and time to get on your bike and enjoy the yourself. Visit me at the Spring fair at Lusciousgear2u in Cobbitty this Saturday 5th September between 8am and 5pm. 06.01.2022 FUNKY FASHION Isnt nature wonderful? Beautiful intricate detail on this Australian native flower the Banksia, reminded me of an old fashioned high necked garment. With my clever mouse on my computer I added the linework to create a new "Funky Fashion."

05.01.2022 A bucket of Australian flowers waiting to be used to make up bouquets of flowers at an exhibition, inspired me to create this artwork "The Flower Carters" By digitally adding a little detail to the twiggy bits in front, the personality evolved. With feathers in their caps they proudly paraded their Floral Art Cart

04.01.2022 Lazy Lion after lunch The bushy tail of a small dog that walked passed my stall at the markets one day caught my attention. I asked the owner if she could hold the dog still so I could photograph it. Looking at the photo, I noticed the face in the tail. It looked like a lion in the wind, so I added a little fan to create the wind, and invented the scene whereby the relaxed lion was cooling off after a good lunch.

03.01.2022 Don't forget my unigue & original artwork is now available at @Lusciousgear2u in Cobbity. Thursday - Sunday 10-4pm Orders for canvases can also be organise by giving me a call.

03.01.2022 Your tennis dress looks great. When I hung these two flowers on the dark bark of a gum tree, and photographed them, I imagined them to be decorative outfits worn by the mid week social tennis set, where there are always comments about each others tennis outfits. one trying to outdo the other. The saying "Your tennis dress looks great" is often heard, consequently it became the title of this artwork.

02.01.2022 Sunlight on a branch of a dried out Oriental Lily was an exceptionally amazing naturally created sculpture. I photographed it then added digital detail to create this well aged Cockatoo. "Hanging on for dear life" became the artwork. See other artwork created with the oriental Lily https://www.arikaireverseart.com.au//hanging-on-for-dear-l

02.01.2022 Unique Australian art as seen in the "Desert Dancers" The dried leaves and petals lit by the sun was the starting canvas to which I added the detail to create this fun artwork. Many limited edition artmounts are available @Lusciousgear2u Cobbitty this weekend 10-4pm.

02.01.2022 Sun light filtering through trees and smoke from a pile of burning leaves creates this image "Morning Glory"
