25.01.2022 God's Word: Luke 9 v 62.. Jesus Said To Him ! "Anyone who starts to plow & then keeps looking back, Is of no use to the Kingdom of God".. A strange situation: Jesus didn't have many followers', yet here are people volunteering to follow him today, & his turning them away ! Why ? 1 must think, They seem to be good people, too, with much confident & eagerness; "I Will Follow You Wherever You Go". & their requests to attend to their other duties seem reasonable. So we wonder Wh...y ! Jesus rejects them. "following me on this peeps".. Jesus wants nobody to be under any illusions "distraction", ( here his talking abt our loved 1,s family's, death, etc; example "Aw Wait there Lord Jesus, I Gotta Do This That 1st, Note : the disciples dropped, what they were doing to follow) about what it means to follow him. This is no small or easy matter of little consequence; it means self denial, hardship, suffering, the giving up of ease & security.. Right @ that moment Jesus was on His way to Jerusalem where he would be executed. " I Will Follow You Wherever You Go" Would You Have Followed Jesus To The Cross On Golgotha ? Only a fool would volunteer to follow Jesus, Because only a fool would fail to understand the challenge of total commitment. To follow Jesus is a serious & difficult matter. It is so difficult that you have to be called. Without such a call from God, none of us could or would do so. It is hard for anyone of us, because it means giving up our Pride, & Learning To Trust.. Only God/Holy Spirit Can Teach Us That "TRUST" In Him Not Man..IJN. AMEN further readings; Luke 9 v 57- 62 & Psalm 119 v 1-8..
