25.01.2022 It’s not all heavy weights and high intensity - some days we’re all about just getting people moving. Yesterday we were all hands on deck - here’s Meredith working with her coach Jess, Penny working with her coach Fleur and the 9:30am Engine Room class all going at the same time. No matter where you’re at in your fitness journey, or even if you have no idea how to actually start, we can help you get moving in the right direction.

23.01.2022 We’re all ready to go!! Are you? 9am Saturday 2/1/21 Let’s do this!

22.01.2022 Testing week! This week marks the end of our first cycle for our Strength & Conditioning classes, which was a focus on upper body push/pull strength. Testing is all about seeing the results of your last 8-10 weeks coming through - while the coaches may see it in the way you move, this is a very real, numerical representation of progress.... These two gents have seen that progress - for Josh (first lifter) even though he wasn’t here for the original testing in week one, he came away with a lift that’s 15kg heavier than he’s previously put overhead inside our walls. For Byron (second lifter), this was 5kg over his previous best, and it’s one of the easiest PB’s I’ve ever seen. He later went on to add over 10kg onto his previous heaviest lift. Byron is one of our most dedicated athletes, barely misses a 6am class, and the proof of his hard work was easy to see today. There’s no two ways about it - if you put in the work, you will get results. credit @__nruddy__

21.01.2022 Deadlifts are one of the most basic, fundamental lifts you’ll see in our gym. Even if you’re not specifically training to be stronger, we’ll teach you how to deadlift heavy loads with safe technique. Why?... Because we’re training you to be healthier, and part of that means being able to live your life in a way that you’re able to do the things you need to do without the risk or injury or illness. So while your everyday life may not involve picking up heavy barbells, it may involve picking up kids, or pets, or shopping bags, or fertiliser, or luggage, or any of the hundreds of things you pick up every day without thinking about it. If we can teach your body to safely lift heavy loads inside the gym, then your body will start to automatically safely lift things outside the gym. It’s simple - what you do inside the walls of the gym should make it easier and safer for you to live your best life outside of the gym.

21.01.2022 Two days til we open and it’s all hands on deck!

18.01.2022 It seems a little unfair sometimes, how quickly you can put on weight or lose fitness. But the reality is that for most people, it happens gradually over time. It may feel like it just happens overnight, but usually it's a slow build-up over time that we just notice towards the end. And if it's taken you six months (or twelve months, or two years, or even longer) to get to the point where you feel like you need to do something about your weight, or about your fitness levels, ...then going in with the expectation that you'll be able to undo all of that in the space of a few short weeks is unrealistic and setting yourself up for failure. We know that if you make small changes, have the discipline to stick to them and continually show up and put in the work, you will get the results. Where people fall short is if they're expecting miracles and being disappointed when they don't happen. Nothing beats consistency and hard work. Like everything else in life, fitness and strength and all the subsequent benefits will come over time, provided you put in the work. We don't promise that you'll lose 20kg in a month, or that you'll have rock hard abs after 6 minutes of crunches. If you're looking for those kind of results, we're not the gym for you. If you're looking at making small changes and taking the first step to making yourself fitter and healthier, we'd love to help you get started.

11.01.2022 It’s not all just lifting weights and running - coming later this month we’ll also start offering movement assessment and screenings, designed to help us help you to move better and just generally be healthier. Here’s coach CK going through some shoulder mobility work to try and help improve his overhead position - it’s about 20 mins worth, twice a week and with a bit of patience it’s going to make a huge difference. If you have any sort of constant pain related to movement and you don’t want to be in pain anymore, get in touch and we’ll see if there’s anything we can do to help get you moving healthier.

06.01.2022 And that’s a wrap on our Open Day! Massive shoutout to everyone who came down to help us celebrate our opening and a huge thanks to Spoilt Photo Booths for coming down to capture the moment! If you missed it or you’re keen to get your 2021 off on the right foot, send us a message or come in to see us - we’re officially open for classes from Monday January 4th!

05.01.2022 Training is always better with a friend... or in this case, with a family member. Murray and Aaron have just started training with us, and while the father and son may have different fitness goals, we can work with them both together so it’s not just coming to the gym, it’s a shared experience. If you want to get fitter and healthier but don’t want to go it alone, drag a friend along and do it together!
