25.01.2022 Having so much fun working on this project with one of my repeat clients. The success of a building project is largely dependent on the relationship, trust and respect between client and architect. I truly love working with them. First cut of the schematic design. Can't wait to see how this project will get fine tuned! #arkspacearchitects #brisbanearchitects #luxuryhousedesign #brisbanearchitecture

24.01.2022 Amazing make over to this small pre-1911 cottage. Keep the traditional apperance to the extension by using vertical joint panels to the walls and ceiling with louvre windows and plantation shutters. Different ceiling heights define the areas in the open plan where the overall appearance ties in by the same treatments of the openings, furnishing and fabric selections. Love it. 23.01.2022 Love creeping fig. If you have blank and ordinary fence walls and want some colours, try these. Please note, their sticky feet can damage painted surfaces. They are like super-glue! #brisbanearchitect #creepingfig #brisbanelandscaping

15.01.2022 Adding a second level to your existing home seems like a huge project. However why wouldn't you if you could achieve like this old family home. It is a great way of adding more space and value. 13.01.2022 Good time to get you house renovation DONE!
13.01.2022 Timber and Tin Love or Hate? Yes, it is a Queenslander home that I am referring to. I’m a big softy for these timber giants. Early Queenslander homes were quite simple. They were conceived in a subtropical climate, using readily available and transportable materials like tin and timber and by elevating the structure, expansive verandah and high pitched roof. ... However, many Queenslander homes have become an ‘inconvenient, impractical, less-functional, maintenance nightmare’ to the modern family lifestyle. Arkspace Architects are passionate about restoring Queenslanders to their former glory and providing design services that combine their original design principles with a contemporary lifestyle. If you’re planning to renovate a Queenslander, please contact us. We would love to hear from you. ** Now the FUN BIT! ** We are giving away a Free On-Site Consultation to our lucky Facebook followers and their FB friends. 07.01.2022 Renovate or Not renovate What are the current challenges that we are facing when we are not allowed to do our daily routine. How many of us are good at isolating at home every day with the children, partners even with our own parents with no mates to play, no restaurant to go, no sports to watch, a total social ban. One of most challenging parts of all is that many of us dont have a house that can accommodate a family isolation scenario. ... Are you currently thinking of Need more bedrooms, need a bigger wardrobe, Kitchen is too small, need more cupboards, Need an extra bathroom, vanity needs more drawers, Kids need their own rumpus room with sound proof walls Need a parents retreat Need a bigger study area, more power points, More storage, No workout space, The easiest and quickest way yet so challenging is to do a spring clean out. We all have few boxes of "things - a mixture of who knows" and "one day...I will items" . Too many kitchen appliances, many clothes (some don''t fit, some too old), old kids toys and even a drawer with a full of odd socks. We dont intentionally clutter, we are generally good at organising and minimising but at the same time we are really good at impulsive cluttering. When we create a space by de-cluttering, it will fresh our mind up, we get creative, opportunities to move things around and most importantly doesnt cost any. Now is the perfect time. Here is the first task to do Lets do something different to what we have been doing since the toilet roll shortage hit the nation. Instead of what can we stock up on, lets do what can we get rid of. If it is worth, put it on the market place or gumtree for kids pocket money. Once we have done our spring clean, the above "Need" lists might go down and will help us focus on the real needs. Second task to do Write Must do list and Wish list. Do we renovate? Not renovate? Here is something Arkspace Architects are offering during this Isolation period: If you don't have a house plan, why not measure and draw one? Can be a fun family activity Tools required: kids grid book, measurement tape, ruler, pencil, eraser and kids to help you. Send an email to [email protected] with: Plan, Photos, Current condition of the house, Current limits, Must/wish lists, Ball park figure of your budget, If you send all above requirement, we are offering email consultation for FREE. Please PM me if you have any queries. Good luck! Please share. And most importantly, stay safe and well.
