09.01.2022 GRASS SEEDS Spring and Summer are the season for grass seeds. These pesky things find their way into the skin, ears, eyes and toes of dogs and cause pain and infection. Long haired breeds are more commonly afflicted but short haired dogs have their share of problems too. One of our patients today had 2 seeds removed from his hind leg, one having travelled more than 15cm in a few days, requiring an extensive surgery. Check your pets every day for seeds stuck in their fur. Between the toes is the most common site. See your vet if red swellings appear, often with a puncture wound. The earlier they are caught, the easier they are to find and treat.

08.01.2022 Please be mindful of what flowers/plants you have around your pets.
