Arayik Harutyunyan has urged a defence of Shushi, like the heroic battle which secured Artsakh's liberation in the early 1990s, as "whoever rules over Shushi, rules over Artsakh".

Our colleagues at the ANC of Europe (EAFJD - European Ar...menian Federation for Justice and Democracy) explain: The French Senate recognized the Republic of Artsakh/Nagorno Karabakh The resolution condemns the military aggression of Azerbaijan against the people of Nagorno Karabakh, emphasizing that Azerbaijan has been supported by the Turkish authorities i.a. through with the involvement of jihadist mercenaries and calls for the immediate withdrawal of the Azerbaijani armed forces from the territories occupied after 27 September, 2020. The French Senators also call for providing massive humanitarian aid to the civilian population of Nagorno Karabakh call for conducting an international investigation into the war crimes committed by Azerbaijan in particular against the civilian population of Nagorno Karabakh including the use of weapons prohibited by the international law call for an appropriate and firm response to Turkey for its role in this conflict call for action from the French Government to do everything in its power to ensure that negotiations for a lasting resolution of the conflict resume under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group emphasize that the negotiations should address the restoration of the borders defined in 1994 as well as the security of the Armenian populations and the right of return of displaced persons and the preservation of Armenian cultural and religious heritage. The resolution underlines that the security and freedom of the Armenian populations of Artsakh are not guaranteed under the Azerbaijani control, which is i.a. attested in the reports of the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance of the Council of Europe (ECRI) and of the UN Committee for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD). The Senate reminds of the Armenian massacres of Soumgaït, Kirovabad, in Baku and Maragha, systemically organized by the Azerbaijani authorities. The resolution of the French Senate also states that the Turkish military support provided to Azerbaijan is at the origin of the war unleashed on 27 September by Azerbaijan. Dear Compatriots, The solidarity and unity displayed by Armenians globally and most impressively in Australia is something which we should forever be proud of, however the efforts do not stop here as there is still much to do. The pain and emotion which is currently consuming our souls as a result of the Artsakh war is amplified as we are survivors of numerous attempts of ethnic cleansing. We have learnt over centuries the will of our existence. No matter what difficulties we face, our unique Armenian spirit will prevail. At this difficult time, we must all remain united for the betterment of Armenia and Artsakh as this is the only way in which the Armenian collective can harness its strength, intellect and resources for a stronger and united Armenia and Artsakh. We are a resilient, strong and proud race. We may be troubled by the unknown, however, we must use our characteristics to turn the climate into one of action, actions which benefit Armenia, Artsakh and the Armenian people. ARF Australia will continue and always serve our community and is ready to assist with the rebuild of our nation and assist its citizens and we ask for all organisations to unite and collectively serve our people and nation.
