16.01.2022 Unfortunately we are not having a Christmas party this year due to the Health restrictions BUT stay tuned there will be an After COVID party as soon as we can hold it, in the new year. MERRY CHRISTMAS, SEASONS GREETINGS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL

11.01.2022 Nothing like a good game of Bridge!!

10.01.2022 Paul Marston is offering FREE online INTRODUCTION TO BRIDGE course This is an initiative in support of bridge clubs all around the country, supported by the Australian Bridge Federation Four lessons at 2 pm on Tuesday 25 August, 1, 8, 15 September. Each lesson will be a little over an hour. There will also be practice sessions at 10 am on Thursday 27 August, 3, 10 September, 40 minutes each. When players sign up, they will be asked for their postcode. This is so we can put th...em together with people from the same area. This will work well if they want to go to a nearby bridge club after the course, or if they simply want to meet up. Each lesson will include a play component. The lessons will be conducted on Zoom and the play on BBO. Both components are essential to making a success of the course. The course is a partnership with Nevena Djurovic. She has developed the website and written the tutorials and so on. For further information and to register please follow link below. https://bridgelounge.online/learn-bridge-registration/

08.01.2022 PAUL MARSTON'S FREE BEGINNER BRIDGE LESSONS Paul Marston's beginner bridge course is a great way for new players to learn to play bridge in this uncertain COVID world. Marston wrote the introductory book which is used for most new players and all his books use simple language and logical presentation of the most useful strategies. I therefore encourage you to share this with friends interested in learning to play bridge. Information on the lessons may be accessed at https://b...ridgelounge.online/learn-bridge-registration/ Also, most bridge players undertake beginner lessons twice and gain enormously from the second round. For those who did the lessons last year this could be highly beneficial.

08.01.2022 BRIDGE CLUB CHRISTMAS TIMES AND PROCEDURES Hi everyone At the last committee meeting it was decided to maintain all normal bridge sessions except for Boxing Day. So no session on Saturday 26th Dec.... The normal procedures will need to be followed for the other sessions. For each upcoming session the director will announce that entries will be taken. Each pair wanting to play then needs to contact the director to let them know they want to play. So whether a session goes ahead or not (other than Boxing Day) will depend on how many tables the director is happy to take. This is usually 3 tables. Wednesday's Restricted session will follow this plan as well. Monday nights novice session will finish on 21st December and restart on 18th January. Tuesday morning novice session is already closed for the year and will restart on the first Tuesday in February (2nd Feb). Best wishes Ian Price (ABC Secretary)

07.01.2022 Hi everyone, Well COVID-safe bridge is going well, and if you would like to play on Saturday 18th, please check your email and get in touch with Jim Stroud, he is still looking for more people to make up the session.

06.01.2022 Your committee is busy planning our re-opening and making sure we are all safe. We are aiming for Thursday 9th July, but stayed tuned for further updates.

06.01.2022 ASSISTED PLAY RESTARTS ON MONDAY EVENINGS. Ian Price Hi everyone... We have decided to restart Monday night bridge from the 12th OCTOBER. I have tried to contact all the regular players I know, but some emails did not seem to work & I may have missed some people. So please pass the word around to anyone you know who may be interested. We will be following our standard covidsafe protocols, so please send your names to me for Ian PrIce [email protected] for 12th October. Everyone will need to sign in and get a temperature check etc. Physical distancing applies at all times. We also prefer card payments now rather than cash, but we will still accept cash. Any questions please get back to Ian Price [email protected]
