20.01.2022 To our families and friends at Armidale Martial Arts Academy : You may be feeling concerned about the coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, that has been in the news. If so, you are not alone. We at Armidale Martial Arts Academy want to let you know we are proactive in making sure our environment is as safe as is possible for you and your family. Here are some specific measures we are taking: - If a staff member or instructor is feeling under the weather, we tell them to stay ...home - If a studio member was out of school or work sick, please don't come to class that day or until the illness has passed. This is our standard policy - but in the current environment, it's even more important. If we see that a child appears to be under the weather or feels warm to the touch, we'll ask you to take them home. If you're out because you're sick, we'll help you make it up with a complimentary private coaching session or two when you return. - Our team will perform extra duty tasks where common hand contact occurs during operating hours, especially between classes such as wiping down and disinfecting doorknobs, handles, faucets, and toilet operating arms. - We're strongly encouraging the use of hand sanitizer more frequently to all students and to parents and family members in the bleachers. especially before and after classes. - Disinfecting wipes will be conveniently located throughout our facility for you to wipe down your phones, tablets, computers, sparring gear, and whatever else you need. - As always, we're doing fist-bumps, not handshakes or high-fives. in the coming days, we'll be stopping fist-bumps at the door - and will be greeting people without contact to make the environment even safer. Fist-bumps will be reserved for the interior of the studio, after hand sanitizer has been applied. Here are things you can do to help support us in offering the safest environment possible. - Avoid close contact with people who are sick. - Wash your hands with soap and water regularly while singing the A,B,C’s, and use hand sanitizer as often as you feel it's needed. - Try not to touch your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands. - Please stay home when you are sick or show any signs of not feeling well. Remember, we have a great make up class policy and awesome curriculum videos for you to keep up. - Cough or sneeze into a tissue or your elbow. If you use a tissue, wash your hands afterwards. - Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces that you bring into Armidale Martial Arts Academy with the disinfecting wipes we have throughout the school. It's important that our members and their families understand how seriously we're taking this - and that our goal is to make sure that the karate studio is the cleanest and safest place in town for you and your family.
