13.01.2022 Update Dax has found a loving home, with lots of new friends. Dax DOB 24/10/20 $220 Desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated... Dax is a friendly little man, he loves his toys and his scratching trees, Dax gets on well with the older cats in care but isn't to fussed about the younger kittens. He would suit a home with no dogs however if you had a quiet older dog he might after some introductions slowly come around to sharing his space with a dog. Dax has a medium length coat that will require some brushing, his foster carer is slowly introducing him to the brush and the comb to get him used too this. He has just started to relax into this special time with his carer. If you are interested in Dax please call the co ordinator on 0408360648, or email the branch [email protected] Armidale is 6 hours north of Sydney, and we do encourage you to visit our animals, however at this time we will need to know where you are located. 08.01.2022 During kitten season, feline intake at RSPCA NSW increases by eight times, up to 500 kittens each week. In just two years, one pair of undesexed cats can lead to 20,000 kittens which is why desexing is vitally important to prevent unwanted pregnancies and keeps your beloved feline friend healthy. For more information on kitten season visit our website https://bit.ly/3kAtT7a

07.01.2022 What is animal enrichment, and why is it important? Animal enrichment is games and activities for your pet that keeps your pet’s body and mind healthy, and stimulated. Enrichment helps lower your pet’s stress levels, reduces the occurrence of unwanted behaviours and helps them cope with environmental changes. Some great ways to introduce enrichment into your pet's day:... Puzzle feeders; slow your pet down & make meal time fun Create a treasure hunt with treats Allow access to windows or views to look out Provide your pet with choice, whether it's a place to sleep or which toys to play with Take your pet to places they haven’t been to before e.g., new beaches, bushland or parks, so that they can experience new and interesting sights and sounds.

06.01.2022 What a great enrichment idea!

03.01.2022 Have you ever thought about becoming a foster carer? RSPCA NSW’s Foster Care program provides temporary homes to animals who need a helping hand. This might be because these animals are too small or young to be adopted, recovering from illness or surgery, are undergoing rehabilitation or even just finding the shelter environment too stressful. Our foster care program also supports animals in regional locations that do not have RSPCA NSW facilities. By placing animals into fos...ter homes, it provides them with the care and support they need until they are ready to be adopted into loving forever homes. Becoming an RSPCA NSW foster carer is an incredibly rewarding experience. It’s the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of some of the state’s most vulnerable animals. You can find out more information about foster care here: https://www.rspcansw.org.au//RSPCA-NSW-Foster-Care-FAQ-24- You can apply to be a foster carer here: https://app.betterimpact.com/PublicEnterp/EnterpriseSearch

01.01.2022 Edit Peaches has found her forever home, where we think she might be very spoilt. And why not she deserves it. Peaches DOB 03/10/2014 Pomeranian x desexed, wormed, flea treated, microchipped, vaccinated... $385 Peaches loves her cuddles and pats, her manners are improving, she can now sit, wait, touch, drop. She has figured out how the doggy door works and loves that she can come into the house or go into the back garden whenever she likes. She loves her trips out in the car, and going to the park for a run. Peaches will not be able to be rehomed with young Children. She needs to be rehomed with an older person who lives a quiet life and will have time to snuggle and continue with her training.
