21.01.2022 This week, we are starting something slightly different. For the rest of the year, each Tuesday will be #TastyTreatTuesday where we share some of our favourite recipes. Starting off our year is Simple Chocolate Slice... Preparation time: 10 mins Cooking time: 18 mins Serves: 20 Ingredients: - 1 cup self-raising flour, sifted - 1 cup desicated coconut - 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips - 395g can of condensed milk - 185g butter, melted - Vanilla essence Method 1. Pre-heat oven to 180 C. 2. Sift dry ingredients into a bowl. Add melted butter, condensed milk and vanilla. Mix well 2. Press mixture over the base of greased 28cm x 18cm tin. 3. Bake for 20 minutes. Cool in tin 4. When cold, ice with Chocolate Icing, sprinkle with coconut. Cut and serve. Chocolate Icing: - 1 cup icing sugar - 2 tablespoons cocoa - 30g butter - Coconut - 1 tablespoons hot water Sift icing sugar and cocoa into small bowl. Add melted butter and water Mix until the icing is smooth and glossy. ENJOY

12.01.2022 The March Meeting for the Armidale Show Society will be held on Thursday 18th March, from 7 PM @ the Armidale Sport & Rec Centre. For those unable to attend a Zoom link can be provided through the Society. Please contact the Society Email for further information. 11.01.2022 Another new section for this year's show was the RSUS Competitions. RSUS is the UNE's Agricultural Society, and in a normal year, run the Young Farmers Challenge at the Armidale Show. As they were unable to run a YFC in 2021, they turned their creative talents to supporting the Show in other ways, and created the following: - Agricultural Cake Decorating... - RSUS Merchandise in Action - Photography - Agricultural Plant Scene - Fruit & Veg Animal Creation Thank you to RSUS- UNE's Agricultural Society for thinking outside the box and for continuing to work with the Society to help make events happen.
06.01.2022 The Spirit of the Bush photography competition, run by Rural Aid has returned in 2021, with the winning photos being part of a beautiful 2022 calendar that will be available to purchase. A panel of judges will determine the best pictures, based on twelve categories: Farming Generations...
