17.01.2022 ARM OF MERCY International - Helping the Persecuted Sri Lanka Story Of Silent Champions. ... Sister Shia and her family never anticipated that they would ever experience persecution as they started a Christian ministry on the beautiful Island of Sri Lanka. As young pioneers in promoting the love of Jesus, their first horrible experience was that of the burning of their church by those who opposed there faith. Threats and abuse was how things were for some years until one night gunman broke into their home killing the husband with a bullet to the chest and heart. They continued with firing and our Sister Shia also was hit in the elbow and stomach. The elbow was chattered and she drops the baby boy which was in her arms, he ends up unconscious and through this ordeal he carries a mental disorder for many years. The bullet that enters her stomach is lodged in her spine and the doctors are fearful that if its removed she may end up paralyzed. As I interviewed her personally, we asked her what may her needs be at this present time and she replies, ...'I need the suspension of my old 3 wheeler tuk tuk fixed, for my vehicle gives me much spinal pain as it travels over bumps' A HUGE THANKYOU for those who have helped with this project! Why do I mention Silent Champions? Our Sister Shia has a successful ministry now as a result of what she has gone through. She remained at her post, stayed in the same location, completely trusted in God, forgave those that had done her wrong, and felt that the Lord wanted her to continue in the ministry of the vision of her husband. Through this sought of faith and tenacity, communities are transformed! 10.01.2022 ARM OF MERCY International Home Built for A Widow This is a cottage we built for a poor widow and her son in Columbo. While on our AOM mission trip to Sri Lanka, we were compelled to visit a poor widow living on the poverty line - now that the breadwinner, her husband, died because of a disease. ... After viewing the conditions she was living in, we promised her a home that she could call her own, and together with our manager on the ground in Columbo, Mr Jude Moli (the man in blue work clothes), organized and completed the task with great leadership skills. When the small cottage was completed, the Arm Of Mercy team had visited to view the cottage and to celebrate with photos. Our dear sister was so grateful that people she never knew had sowed into there lives wanting to help in their difficult hour of mourning and great need. A big thank you to all who gave from their hearts through prayer and finances! See more

05.01.2022 ARM OF MERCY International A Great Effort - Colombo Sri Lanka A big thankyou to Mr Daniel Sgroi for organizing this load for Sri Lanka. Cloths, Wheels chairs, and Spectacles were sent to help those in need. As many are desperate for help in this time. ARM OF MERCY were able to collect from people who donated for this precious cause. ... In Australia wheel chairs are updated every few years which make them available as treasure in another country. The moment we open the call for clothing abroad, we are overwhelmed with people surrendering their older garments. With spectacles, many can receive 2 free pairs a year, which then they discard the older pairs. A real blessing to have so that we can give to others in great need. A lovely Christmas present indeed!
