25.01.2022 So much gratitude to everyone at St. Patrick’s primary school for these exquisite flowers, and for entrusting me with their students for 5 years. Each and every child taught me how to be better at what I do. To see their confidence flourish was everything

24.01.2022 A big thank you to all my lovely clients for their kindness and understanding over the past two months. Recovering from shoulder surgery that hasn’t gone as planned, has been very painful and difficult and I’m grateful to you all for beautiful thoughts and patience. It looks like it will be a longer journey towards getting my arm back in action however I will continue to do my best to provide you all with the best possible service. There will be several changes to my practice as a result of the longer recovery. Those clients currently seeing me will not be affected by these changes. For any enquires regarding speech services please email me at [email protected] Happy Spring to you all

18.01.2022 And that’s a wrap for the year from us at Armstrong Speech. We’d like to take this opportunity to wish all our clients and their families a very merry Christmas and all the best for 2018. Thank you for sharing your courage, and your beautiful souls during your speech therapy journeys this year. We think you are all amazing! Thanks also to those precious poppets who showered us with these lovely Christmas creations and wishes. We will take a little break and open our doors again at The Aviary on 8th January 2018. Merry Christmas to you all

15.01.2022 We ain’t over with this yet...in light of recent COVID developments and government announcements in Victoria, all clients will be required to wear a mask for speech therapy appointments. Children under 12 are exempt from wearing a mask. With many thanks.

12.01.2022 Last day with our lovely Parkinson’s Voice Group - what a beautiful bunch of people, and all made such amazing achievements with their voices over the past few months...improvements in loudness, strength, clarity and confidence - congratulations!!! Here’s to more good voice in 2018...

09.01.2022 It’s been some time between posts...we’ve been busy since the beginning of the year working with our schools, and kids and adults in the clinic, and Sally at La Tobe University working on voice research. But we’re still here, and enjoying the lovely variety of people that walk into our lives each day. So what’s happening - as of the end of July we will for a number of reasons unfortunately, be leaving The Aviary. New clinic details to be revealed but rest assured we will cont...inue be based in Lancefield. And the saddest news of all, our wonderful Laura, who works so magnificently with all her clients, in a number of different capacities, proving herself to be a very hard working, well respected and accomplished clinician has announced her desire to pursue her interest in the Early Intervention world of Speech pathology on a full time basis. We will say so long to Laura at the end of the school term. She will hand over her clients to Sally so her clients can feel confident their Speech needs will continue to be met. We will miss her soooo much! They say a change is as good as a holiday. It’s all going to be ok then! More updates to come before too long..

09.01.2022 This is the view from my bedroom window. It’s quite lovely, and I’m lucky to have it. I’ve spent 90% of the year, managing my business in this room. As challenging as it’s been at times, I’m so grateful for the chance I’ve had to move my business online, and for the patience, flexibility and kindness from all my clients as they too made the transition to a completely different form of service delivery. All my clients have been incredibly adaptable, and gracious, and I am so very grateful. I wish you all a beautiful Christmas and festive season with your friends and families, whether they be close by or in your hearts, and wish you a healthy, happy and much improved new year...

08.01.2022 Thanks to the extraordinary guidance and expertise from Alison Perry, and the superb Sounds Write programme, I am now a certified Sounds Write practitioner. This new learning has absolutely changed the way I will provide literacy services to all my clients. Learning to spell, read and write has never made so much sense. Feeling very grateful for this new learning

08.01.2022 A special little person of mine has kindly lent me two of her dinosaurs to watch over proceedings in the new clinic - not long to go and the new space will be ready!

06.01.2022 In these strange and worrying days of Covid and it’s impacts, I want to touch base with you all to wish you and your families good health, and wellness. I also need to let you know that since March 2020 and until such time it’s safe to return to face to face appointments, Armstrong Speech will continue to be an online service. Today I moved out of my office 31B High Street, Lancefield. It was bittersweet, but it felt in every way, the right decision...the health of my client...s, my family, my friends, and myself, comes first. I look forward to continuing my speech pathology services online until such time the world (and especially Victoria!) is in a better, more reassuring place. Wishing you and your families good health xx

06.01.2022 Loving our Lancefield Monthly Parkinson’s Voice Group - we went all ‘Outback’ today with a wonderful Think Loud rendition of The Man From Snowy River followed by Lumberjack Cake, of course

05.01.2022 Getting closer to my new office, new clinic hours, and a totally new year...

01.01.2022 COMPLIMENTARY MASK VOICE SESSION Are you feeling your voice strain as you try to communicate through your mask? Do you feel your speech is less clear from behind your mask? Are you having to repeat yourself several times in order to get your message across?... Are you finding it difficult to hear others speak? I know when I wear my mask I am struggling at times with my communication. I had to repeat myself 4 times at the Deli counter last week and felt the effort involved in simply asking for 6 slices of prosciutto! Masks are here to stay, and we need to be heard. I am offering you the chance to talk with me about the communication challenges you may be facing now that you have started wearing a mask. I will offer you some strategies to help us all communicate through our masks more clearly, efficiently and safely. Join me for a complimentary one-hour online session on Saturday 8th August at 3pm. Simply register your interest at: [email protected] and I will provide you with the zoom link and password to access this session.
