25.01.2022 Hi all, The junior draw has changed slightly to fit in with a few of the other clubs. It has been amended on the previous post, but here is the new draw again!
23.01.2022 It was a good win for the seniors today. Batting first we made 143 against Newbridge. Scholesy and Ryan top scoring. We defended the score keeping Newbridge to 9/103 from their 35 overs. Without a doubt the highlight of the day was the senior debut of Jaspa Wendels. With wickets tumbling around him he was able to get the score from 105 to 143. He then showed us how it's done with the ball taking 2/16 from his 7 overs. If that wasn't enough he took two catches, the second an a...bsolute blinder at mid-off. We can't wait to give more of our talented juniors a go at senior level and lower the average age/weight range
22.01.2022 Hello and welcome back to all for season 2020/21. Congratulations to the parents of all the births that happened over the winter with many first time parents and some with another notch ticked off. Now onto business the league general meeting is on this Monday night..... Stay tuned for details of our general meeting which will confirmed shortly with information on our Covid-19 return to training/play policy as there will be many new changes this year relating to sharing of drinks, food and gear. Look forward to seeing everybody again this year GO REDBACKS
22.01.2022 Hi All, For those attending the AGM tonight if you are planning on logging on via a smartphone or device other than a PC or MAC make sure you download the zoom app for free prior to the meeting so you are all ready to go! Also if everyone could leave their microphones on mute unless they are talking this makes the audio far clearer and easier to hear.... See you all tonight!
22.01.2022 Hi Arnold family To those with chocolate boxes money to return please bring to training tonight, if you haven’t sold them yet shoot Andrew Taylor a message and just let him know how your traveling. Go Redbacks
22.01.2022 Arnold Cricket Club Annual working bee spectacular 11th October 2020 Hi All The annual working at the club rooms to get the grounds ready for the upcoming season will be held on 11th October commencing at 11:00. Its important we get stuck in and do a good job as the junior season could well see the ground hosting games as soon as the following weekend!... Bring your broom, bring your shovel, bring your whipper snipper or just bring yourself. The more people we have the less time it will take us. All are welcome to come and help out. If any Senior player is unable to attend please ensure you advise Ben or Mich prior to Sunday. The work will be followed by a very light senior training session to blow out a few cobwebs of our own. Following this we will be raffling off Matts gear!! Please ensure you bring your masks and your own drink as do to the COVID restrictions hydration is now a personal responsibility and Papa Andy has had to be relieved from his duties temporarily.
21.01.2022 Arnold Family What a big week it has been for the Mighty Redbacks. Our juniors travelled up to Boort and started off the season positively batting out their overs in strong fashion. They return this week to try and defend their score start the season off with a victory! ... Our senior team had plenty to do before the season opener kicked off and started by re appointing Michael Dale as our captain for the season, congrats Mich I just know you’re going to nail those arvo tea speeches! Cody ‘turts’ Anderson has stuck his neck out and taken on the VC position for the season, and after a 15 ball over on Saturday has settled into his leadership role nicely. Well done Ryan has stepped back to the position of third selector which is a role he will perform ‘virtually’ as he can’t attend any selection nights. Saturday also saw the unveiling of our premiership flag from the 18/19 season, and while the flag contained some controversial omissions it was a moment of great pride for the club. Our seniors went down to new flag favorites newbridge, after setting a competitive total of 4/128 newbridge chased it down comfortably knocking up 2/142 off their 35 overs. Our seniors travel up to Serpentine this week to take on the new boys of the ULCA. Serpentine will be looking to bounce back after their underwhelming arvo tea last season however players are still advised to bring their own snacks. The senior squad have responded to the loss at the selection table with a couple of handy players coming into the side. Andrew Taylor comes into the side, and with a career bowling awerage of 11 is sure to add some depth to our bowling attack that struggled for wickets against the Newbridge. Matt Giri has also been recalled and has bought with him into the squad an older and balder sibling, welcome Chris Giri who makes his Redbacks debut. While it’s a must win game for the boys all keen supporters eyes will also be on what has been dubbed them battle of the Phils’ with both Phil Davies and Philip Scholes currently sitting on 99 career catches, they are having a race to see who can knock up the ton first, and with PD standing at first slip it’s fair to say that he might be going for catches to his left hand side. Good luck lads! Senior team this week Michael Dale Cam Dale Philip Scholes Matt Giri Chris Giri Cody Anderson Nick Drew Andrew Taylor Ben Metelmann Ryan Metelmann Adam Davies Phil Davies All the best for both teams this weekend Go Redbacks

19.01.2022 We were bowled out for 169 in the 36th over...... Matt Giri made 102 & Ryan Metelmann 27 Next highest score off the bat was Mich Dale 5
18.01.2022 We would like to congratulate the juniors on making the semi finals and wish them the best of luck against Boort tomorrow..... Unfortunately Serpentine have been unable to field a team tomorrow so our seniors will not be playing
17.01.2022 Senior cricket returns! The Arnold senior boys commenced the 2020/2021 season on Saturday taking on the Gower on their home turf in the much anticipated ULCA match of the round. The club would like to congratulate the appointment of the following positions that were elected prior to the match.... Professional tosser Michael Dale has been returned as captain and once again didn’t let the side down, coming up trumps at the first toss and sending the boys in for a hit. A well rested Cody Anderson was also returned to his position as vice captain and unlike the skipper his best work was saved for the field, where he played an impressive steadying role with the blade after the top order struggled to fire in the absence of off season departures. The charismatic Daniel Mason replaces the recently retired Brian Hill as third selector and didn’t put a foot wrong with his stroke play at the crease. Unfortunately 2020 served up what 2020 has been known to do and the lads took some time to get going, they posted the gower a score of 97 to chase off 35 overs and dispite the lush field the Gower managed to scrape over the line. The lads are better for the run out and look forward to next week and the support of the Arnold family throughout the season. Go Redbacks

16.01.2022 Tonight the club held it's 2020/21 AGM over zoom. The major development was Linda Younghusband stepping down as secretary/treasurer after around 6 seasons in the position (she was unsure how many years herself). The club will be having working be Sunday at 11am to ensure the ground is ready, and covid safe... for the juniors first match at home on the 17th of October. 08.01.2022 Season 19/20 has finally arrived! Good luck to our juniors this morning who travel up past the big ox to take on Boort at Boort. Travel Safe and have some fun out there. The seniors start our premiership defense by taking on Newbridge at home, Fabulous Phil Davies has put the heart break of missing the grand final side behind him and with a strong preseason has worked his way into the round one side, but with the Squizz having other commitments today everyone will need to be ...at their best to get the job done. Game kick off 1:30, players please be there 12:45 as we have a couple things to sort out before play. We are also defending our ‘best arvo tea’ title, and although official judge Jessica ‘iron jaw’ Dale won’t be there today we still need to make sure we all remember to bring a plate. Go Redbacks

07.01.2022 Arnold family.. It’s been a big round for the Arnold cricket club with some strong showings in both our senior and junior squads. The juniors took on our newly established arch rivals in Wedderbern in a 2 day match, played wearing the tradition full white uniform. Our young stars set Wedderburn a challenging target of 135 which was compiled with strong contributions from H Lock and G Nevins scoring 25 runs each, and F Lock settling into his role at first drop racking up 44 r...uns of his own. It proved to not be enough though as Wedderburn finished on 6/190 and managed to take the points home. It was a strong effort from our juniors who are starting to show a lot of promise. Our senior boys arrived at the home of the redback today to take on Boort. Sitting on 2 wins and 2 losses for the season we were looking to get ahead of the ledger. Mich Dale won the toss and after taking time to assess the situation decided to have a bat first. Arnold tried a new opening combination of M Giri and P Scholes, with the duo pairing nicely to get the boys off to a solid three run partnership before Giri was unlucky being dismissed flirting outside off. It proved to be the only wicket we would lose for the day with Scholes and the less talented Dale brother combining for an amazing 262 run partnership and continuing their stealer starts to the season. Scholes finished unbeaten on a near flawless 116, and Cam finished on 123 not out after providing the Boort team with catching practise for the duration of his 99 ball innings. After a controversial afternoon tea where Jess ‘iron jaw’ Dale was forced to fight for a feed amongst the new bread of Arnold women, the boys returned to the pitch to dismiss Boort for 116 in a run chase that never really got going. R Metelmann was the self-proclaimed hero and finished the innings with 3/24 after cleaning up the Boort tale, despite coping plenty of tap early on. Despite two centuries perhaps the biggest cheer of the day was reserved for skipper Mich Dale who was able to successfully hold onto a regulation catch at mid on. In a key moment he once again showed why he is entrusted to lead the team. See more
06.01.2022 During our win on Saturday, Phil Scholes top scored with 92 from 90 balls. This score tipped him over 5000 club runs. Phil has scored the most centuries for the club (13), and has scored his runs at an average of over 36. Congrats Scholesy!
06.01.2022 Missing cricket? Here's a fun little holiday project while we're on our cricket break.

04.01.2022 We tried to get a photo of Cam and Ryan’s partnership on the weekend, but it was photobombed by 3 of our newest little members. There were no tears either after we overtook Boort’s score 2 wickets down. We welcomed back Ben Power to the club who also chimed in with 3 wickets. Rumour has it Al Metelmann threw his back out when he tried to pick up Ben for the photo
