11.01.2022 * OUR OILY JOURNEY! * In 2015 I was diagnosed with inoperable, incurable, aggressive, malignant brain tumour. Given no hope to survive more than a year sent my ...family and I on a health and healing journey. Many hours were thrown into research between all my treatments. We soon learnt what a chemical-laden world we now live in and how we have all become so disconnected from nature. Although we were living what seemed like a healthy, active lifestyle, we were unaware of the toxic burden we were placing in and on our bodies, each and every day. With this newfound knowledge, we decided to make drastic changes to our home and lifestyle. We emptied our kitchen, bathroom and laundry cupboards from all toxic products, and threw out other personal items such as candles, perfumes and colognes. We used a great App called the Chemical Maze to assist us on the way and guide us as to what food and household products were safe for us to use and consume. It was evident to see that the solution was to go back to the basics, and back to nature. Nature provides us with everything we need to survive and thrive such as food, water, air, sunshine and medicine. This lead me back to a great quote by Hippocrates Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food. It was apparent that in this day and age, of processed and chemical filled foods, Heather Morgan was absolutely right in stating Every time you eat or drink you are either feeding disease or fighting it. Its our choice! An anti-cancer diet was something I started to look into further. I learnt that nutrient-rich plant foods typically contain phytochemicals (which have anti-cancer properties) and that these phytochemicals are chemical compounds that occur naturally in plants. During this time, I also started to look into how plants could assist me in other ways for my health and healing. It didnt take long before I stumbled across Boswellia Sacra, or better known as the frankincense tree, found in Oman. Frankincense, a resinous dried sap is harvested for its incredibly long list of amazing health benefits. After learning about the benefits of Frankincense it was very clear to me why Frankincense was one of the gifts from the three wise men. It didnt take me long to discover that I needed to source a high quality pure form of Boswellia Sacra to add to my treatment regime. You only have to go to PubMed (National Library of Medicine) and search Boswellia Sacra and its quite obvious why I wanted some in the form of an essential oil. The search for a high quality essential oil from the best essential oil company then began. With many essential oil companies out there claiming 100% pure oils, when in fact theyre not, I felt a little overwhelmed by the whole process. However as always, the universe delivered at the right time and while on a 7 day juice fast health retreat in Bali I found my answer. Tyler Tolman and his wonderful team introduced me to Young Living and more specifically to Sacred Frankincense essential oil. It was a perfect fit. A pure, therapeutic grade essential oil, of the right frankincense species, from a global, purpose-driven essential oil company pioneering the modern day essential oils movement. Along with my Sacred Frankincense orders, we began replacing our products one by one. Thieves household cleaner, foaming hand soap, shower gel, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner and a range of essential oil based products. We started using essential oils for so much more than just diffusing for a pleasant aroma. We started using the culinary oils for flavour in our food and drinks and the oils began to replace our first aid kit. Disinfecting cuts, pain, fever, burns, nausea and vomiting, bites and stings, tummy upset, stress, sleep issues there is seriously an oil for everything! Over time family and friends saw how we were using our oils and wanted to do the same. We began ordering for others and helping them also change to a chemical free lifestyle. Two years on and my one bottle of sacred frankincense organically grew into a large collection of essential oils and essential oil based products, and a Young Living business developed. We are now passionate about sharing this information with others families and reducing the toxic burden from as many lives as possible.
