20.01.2022 What do you do if you think you have immediate risk and come in contact with an airborne pathogen like the flu virus? Washing your hands regularly using sneeze/cough etiquette greatly reduces the spread of germ. You can also include the following suggestions for winter wellness awareness. As soon as you identify the risk, cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or cloth. If you have some eucalyptus balm, lavender balm, vaporous rub in your bag, rub a little on the tissue/clo...th and breath through the tissue/cloth until you are away from the risk. As soon as you are able, wash your hands with disinfectant, or at lease soap and water. Gently blow your nose into a clean tissue, rinse your mouth out with water and wash your hands again. If you feel you are exposed on the way to work, do not touch or contact your colleagues and follow the above as soon as possible. Remember throughout the day to keep your hands clean, dont share equipment or utensils, cover your mouth when coughing or sneezing. Keep a discreet distance from colleagues. If possible give your clothes a quick spray with disinfectant spray or spray containing eucalyptus or tea tree essential oil. If you feel you are exposed on the way home. Before you enter the house, take your shoes off and leave your bag outside until you can spray them with disinfectant spray or spray containing eucalyptus or tea tree essential oil. If able, put into the washing machine and wash them separately. Once inside remove clothes and put them immediately into the washing machine and wash them separately. Do not touch or contact any other household members, including animals, until after you have showered, washed your hair, blown your nose gently in the shower and rinsed your mouth out. Remember to wipe surfaces or spray with disinfectant spray. Always think hygiene precaution and hygiene for winter wellness awareness!

15.01.2022 In light of the current health climate and the many misleading articles being produced and circulated on many social media platforms. The novel coronavirus (covid 19) is as the name suggests, a Virus! This means anything that is antibacterial will not "kill" the virus, only bacteria. Proven agents that kill influenza virus are brands that promote hospital strength and products that have a minimum content of 70% ethyl alcohol. The Queensland Government Health website provides ...a valuable resource of information about infection control and cleaning your home. Useful cleaning tips from QLD Health... wash your hands regularly with soap and water for 20 seconds wash fabrics and soft furnishings handled with minimal disturbance so particles are not made airborne (use appropriate protective wear) washing and then disinfecting hard surfaces with chlorine based products (diluted correctly) will effectively inactive the virus that persists on hard surfaces (use appropriate protective wear) The most important piece of advice circulating at the moment is if you are feeling ill... STAY AT HOME!!! Some clinically trialed essential oils that are listed as having anti-viral actions are Blue Gum Eucalyptus, Blue Mallee Eucalyptus, Lavender, Thyme, Clove Bud, Oregano, Peppermint, Sandalwood and Rose. For use as a room diffuser, it is suggested to use 3 to 6 drops of your chosen essential oil in an ultrasonic diffuser or oil burner. ***Precautions: Do NOT use undiluted essential oils directly on your skin. Do NOT ingest essential oils. The use of essential oils should never substitute qualified medical advice or treatment. Use caution using essential oils when pregnant. If using a tea light candle never leave a naked flame unattended.*** Remember to be smart and protect yourself first, then you will be equipped and healthy to care for your family and loved ones. 11.01.2022 The Passionflower is a fascinating plant, its name can be misleading as it's not an aphrodisiac... the Passionflower represents the passions of Christ. I'm not religious, but think about this description of the plant to explain why it reminded Spanish conquistadors of Christ's suffering... the pointed leaves represent the holy lance the tendrils the whips used to beat him the petals and sepals the faithful apostles the radial filaments the crown of thorns... the chalice shaped ovary with its receptacle the holy grail the stigmata (botanical term) the 3 nails the 5 anthers the 5 wounds An interesting interpretation of the language of the Passionflower. In the natural therapeutic setting, it is an important nervine. A calming remedy especially for those who are anxious and can not remain calm and clear, whose thoughts form tangles. Passion flower tea can help open up those tangles. It is also used as a sleep inducing remedy to help those in states of tension and overactive minds to relax and alleviate insomnia. Always consult your doctor or therapist before starting any new remedies.

08.01.2022 Stress... we live with so much of it in every aspect of our lives that we think it's "normal" to be stressed. A little stress is healthy, but not in the quantities we are currently living with... it's NOT normal! On our own we can deal with a certain level of stress, and that level is different for everyone. But sometimes we need a little help when we feel that stress is overwhelming us. Unfortunately that's when we feel it's too late to talk to anyone... Is it time for you t...o talk to someone? 07.01.2022 Many hospitals already have Aromatherapy plans working for them in wards to help uplift and nurture the emotional and mental wellbeing of their patients. 02.01.2022 Marigolds are one of nature's best healers. Perfect for soothing sensitive skin and healing wounds. I use Calendula CO2 extract because it has reduced risk of solvent residue that absolutes can have, and i can precisely control the concentration unlike with infused oils.
