14.01.2022 We love to visit the northern Ribbon Reefs. Their remote location makes for excellent dive conditions, since the area around the Ribbons and Cod Hole is out of the reach of the many day boats that leave from Cairns and Port Douglas. The reefs are not disturbed by human presence, and visibility is consistently better than areas of the Great Barrier Reef that are closer to cities and farmlands. . Were excited to be planning some dedicated diving trips to these areas in Nove...mber and December. Of course, with all our dive expeditions, snorkelers are always welcome. 12.01.2022 Just in from the Aroona toys department, our Captain, Ross Miller has designed an inflatable, portable glass bottom boat snorkeling platform. The glass bottom section can be used along side a tender or with the pontoons. Its great for people that are not confident in the water or young ones getting their confidence up. Its a wonderful addition to our remote Far North adventures - where no glass bottom boat has ventured before! We are also using it as part of the Great Reef Census. I know John Rumney was a dear friend and mentor to our Captain, Ross Miller, who is no doubt struggling to find words to write about a human who lived such an enormous life. As I read over the words that have filtered through from JR's friends, family, and colleagues, these words are recurrent:... He was selfless beyond measure Such an inspiration privileged to have connected with his beautiful soul It was an absolute HONOUR to know John He taught and inspired thousands of people across the globe What a wonderful, kind, and cheeky man, enriched my life and spirit so much I will forever remember his amazing stories of his life of adventures. A true warrior for the environment To touch so many lives and make such a huge difference in the world, is such an amazing legacy.
