21.01.2022 Tonight’s dinner... Gravy baked lamb chops! This is an old family favorite but the thing is, there is no recipe so each time they are a little different. Tonight I used beef stock, a little flour, mustard, curry powder, garlic, a splash of Worcestershire and a squeeze of tomato sauce... cover the chops with sliced onions and pour in the gravy mixture, chuck it all in the oven on about 150 and bake for around 2 hours. 03.01.2022 Making hay while the sun shines... and well after it has set. Ward has been in the tractor since 5am, this was taken at 10 pm. A quick stop to fuel up, do some maintenance and have a bite to eat; there’s rain coming tomorrow so the bales need to be made or the hay will be ruined. Hay making is an age old practice: you cut and dry the grass when it is abundant and store it for times when fodder is scarce. Technology has made the job easier but has not yet entirely superseded ‘elbow grease’.
