25.01.2022 Today’s message is for the HEROES of ARPAD Aged Care! On behalf of myself, residents and family members of Arpad, I would like to publicly thank each and every single staff member of the Arpad Team for their continuous hard work under extremely challenging times over the last 7 months especially. Words cannot express how grateful we are that the residents are looked after by such an amazing team; who turn up to work every single day with a smile on their faces and work under... such demanding circumstances to provide outstanding care and services to the residents. Arpad employees never complain but they get on with the job - taking on extra workloads and tasks to ensure every resident is looked after outstandingly and uniquely 24/7. 24.01.2022 Seeking expressions of interest to join Arpad Elderly Welfare Society Incorporated Committee The Arpad Elderly Welfare Society Inc (Arpad) is currently seeking to fill a vacancy on its Governing Committee following this year’s AGM in November 2020. The Arpad Elderly Welfare Society Incorporated (Arpad) is the operator of the Arpad Aged Care Facility in Wantirna, Victoria. ... As part of its ongoing commitment to high quality aged care, Arpad has embarked on a program to strengthen its operations and governance and secure its long-term future. This is in response to several emerging trends such as the evolving regulatory environment and the changing needs of the Hungarian diaspora. Arpad works to provide all residents with a culturally enriching environment, especially those with a Hungarian heritage. Professional care and support services are provided within a framework of continuous improvement and we regularly consult and collaborate with our members, residents, staff and broader stakeholders, to establish and maintain a future which meets the needs of our community, our philosophy and our resources. In keeping with good governance practice, Arpad has a skills-based Committee with a defined skills matrix. The Arpad has a commitment to professional development and will invest in Governance training for Committee members. Committee members are required to have professional skills in governance and leadership, preferably in the Not for Profit health or community sectors. In particular, for this vacancy we have a preference for applicants with demonstrated skills and experience in one or more of the following: finance/commerce information technology / data governance Human resources / Change Management A connection, understanding and knowledge of the community that Arpad serves is preferred; for example: a connection to, and/or understanding of the Hungarian community and diaspora. The Arpad is a unique community focused Facility that is well managed and is in a sound financial position. 20.01.2022 Dear Community, A message from Arpad Aged Care: thank you so much for your kind words, letters and support in the past few weeks, since the pandemic’s second wave brought further restrictions and such unprecedented times. Thank you so much for everybody who is keeping away physically and therefore taking part in helping us keeping our residents safe. Thank you for your phone calls and for keeping in touch with us with the help of the internet but more importantly keeping in ...contact with your loved ones. It is very sad to see what is happening in other aged care facilities and maybe even more distressing listening to the news and how the media is reporting on aged care. Our aim is to keep the regular contacts and great relationships with you so you are aware of what is happening in the facility. Rest assured we are trying our very best to minimise exposure to Covid-19 at Arpad. We haven’t got any Covid-19 positive cases at current. We are truly hoping and praying it stays this way. We take all precautions seriously and practice infection control and monitor staff, residents and the very few visitors we have very closely. No one comes through the doors who has been overseas, or has been in contact with a Covid positive case or displays any signs or symptoms of Covid-19. Staff and visitors wear masks inside the facility as well. We ensure all visitors have the flu vaccinations up to date. All residents and staff are vaccinated as well. Returning residents are isolated and swabbed for Covid-19 and influenza. We haven’t got any staff members who also work in other aged care facilities. We haven’t used agency staff thus far this year, which is also a huge benefit. Our residents, relatives and representatives receive regular updates from us with the aim of sharing important information relating to the Arpad. Everyone can call the 24 hour Victorian Coronavirus Hotline on 1800 675 398 to get advice. Once again, thank you so much for all your support and understanding in such challenging times. 17.01.2022 2021 Gulyás Fesztivál A 2021-es Gulyás fesztiválon az Árpádot két bizottsági tag, Janka Christina és Kövesdy Éva képviselte. Árpádos Gulyást készítettek, ami nagyon gyorsan elfogyott. Annak ellenére, hogy jól sikerült, nem nyertek. Még az volt a szerencse, hogy Árpád szakácsunk Erdsi Rozika, Béli Rozika segítségével 2-ik díjat kaptak. A változékony id ellenére nagyon sikeres nap volt. 2021 Goulash Festival Árpád was represented at the 2021 Goulash Festival by two Committee members, Christina Janka és Éva Kövesdy. They cooked Árpád goulash which was eaten very quickly. In spite of the fact that it was delicious, they did not win the competition. Luckily, our chef at Árpád, Rozika Erdsi with the help of Rozika Béli won the second prize. Even though the weather was variable, it was a successful day.
