22.01.2022 Nothing better to do with these firey spikes of Satan than to put your back into it and dig the buggers out
22.01.2022 Busy morning before afternoon shift, counting, tagging, docking and castrating the new lambs.
21.01.2022 Garden appreciation day here at Arrarat Farm. A little bit of rain does wonders for the blooms and my pot collection is growing.

17.01.2022 Some Autumn rains have put a spring in our steps.
16.01.2022 Why Arrarat Farm eggs are so tasty.. free range! And plenty of green veggies in their diet.
15.01.2022 Been a VERY busy, mixed bag week on Arrarat Farm. Positives... newly hatched ducklingslots of work on the chicken free range area fencing, inbetween rain storms and time together. Not so positive ... only 4 ducklings hatched out of 15 and none of the chickens (incubator issues), didn’t finish the fencing due to the rainneighbors goats broke into the sheep paddock and while getting them out the ute got bogged due to all the lovely extra rainfall ... tractor did a solinoid and wouldn’t go, 2 days till fixed and now... bogged with the ute in the paddock . Oh and nightshift!
15.01.2022 8ml for 3 consecutive days and a lovely 23ml overnight on Friday. Not drought breaking, but a small reprieve. Amazing how the grass springs to life. And our resident Wedge-tails helping tidy up a roo carcass in the paddock.
15.01.2022 Morning from Arrarat Farm....(with sound)
14.01.2022 Definitely a winters day here on Arrarat Farm, on and off rain showers, heavy wind and a low temperature called for the fire to be lit and a hearty stew to be cooked.. isolation won’t be so bad during winter right?
13.01.2022 Talk about paddock to plate; Home grown lamb used in this amazing lamb casserole accompanied by homemade rolls A massive thanks to Chisholm's On Farm Butchery for helping us out! #supportlocal #paddocktoplate #homegrown #livingthelife #freshfood #farminglife
11.01.2022 The last lot of rain has bumped the dams up to the highest we’ve seen since being here the last 2 years. A bit of sunshine saw a family tractor ride around to check on the sheep and James the Alpaca.
10.01.2022 While the world is in crisis and it’s getting scary here in Australia, we send our love and best wishes to everyone from Arrarat Farm. Stay safe, check in on your neighbors, chat to your family, (phone, or video) YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Don’t absorb yourself in the various media coverages, look after your mental health as well as your physical. Take the opportunity to plant a veggie crop and spend your time tending it, watching it grow and then enjoy the produce. If you don’t ...have the benefit of ample space, a pot works just as well. I’ve turned the mulch through that’s been keeping the soil safe during the hottest months of summer, added manure and presto, perfect winter veg patch. The green house is full of seedlings (well seeds waiting to sprout) and I’ll put more in in 2-3 weeks so we can plant an ongoing crop. I’m also eagerly awaiting my diggers club order to add some variety. What ever it is you can do in this crazy time, keep up to date with the offical sites only and take this time to care for yourself and your loved ones, both physically and mentally. See more
07.01.2022 It’s all happening at Arrarat Farm this windy Sunday... two new lambs in the paddock with Mumma doing well and an orphan baby goat... Charlie is very taken with baby Rocky, who is content by the fire and drinking well so far.
07.01.2022 Some fantastic rain falls over a couple of days brings green, puddles and water to the dams at Arrarat Farm. Spot of gardening, free weed and feed with the new duck additions. The clucky Wyandot thinks she’s had chicks and taken the new Keets under her wing. Unfortunately holidays come to an end and back to work Monday.
06.01.2022 One of Arrarat Farms residents out for an early morning wander while it’s not scorching hot!
05.01.2022 Chicken, duck ... ouch
